Yes but I can't see anything happening against the company for the breach. It would seem incredibly petty to bother reporting it to anyone.
At the end of the day if I remembered right the OP did receive an item that was £100 more expensive than the one they ordered. I am unsure why everyone is so convinced she is in the right in this case. Despite the unprofessional attitude of the woman who runs the business it does appear there is fault on both sides.
However, the OP's husband phoned up the company to say that they had received more than they should have. With material on a roll it can often be hard to notice there's more than expected until you start using it. (Something I've done many a time when I'm convinced I haven't enough material, but have more than I thought, or vice versa)
As it is, the OP's OH phoned and said he had too much, the trader didn't bother checking it with the supplier for whatever reason (too much work that she couldn't handle, by the sounds of it), and just told OP's OH to keep it.
The trader had several options
A) ask OP's husband to measure the roll to find out exactly how much more he hadchase the supplier
C) ignore the situation and accept the consequences
It appears she chose option C, but is now no longer willing to face the consequences of a bad decision.0 -

Yes but again if I remember her post she said the husband said it was something like an extra 6 inches not 9 metres extra. I don't know who is in the right but it doesn't sound that clear cut.
As a matter of interest did she say what happened to the remaining 9 metres? Can it not just be sent back? This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I believe OP had disposed of it. Not 100% though.
OP, can you confirm?0 -
Of course, this is all taking the company's word for it, and given the posts from the two people involved, I wouldn't hold too much stock in thatOne important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.0

I thought the owner was quite believable. Obviously there are issues with her attitude and how she runs her business but the actual facts she said sounded true.
The bit about the OP's husband not specifying the actual discrepancy doesn't sound like an unbelievable claim and I don't think the OP ever denied that. This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Oh dear. of course my husband did not say it was 6 inches bigger. Who would even notice 6 inches difference? At no point did my husband say this.
I have been advised to keep the phone message, the forum message and the unbelievable email she has just sent me and what to do if I want to take further action.
The sad thing is I didn't need that much extra. She could have had it collected or we may even have been happy to pay some extra towards the excess if she had wanted to do a deal rather than collect. I would not have wanted to pay for the full amount as I did not need it (and had not ordered it) but we may have been prepared to pay something extra. She just said that there would be no way of checking what had been sent out to us, so just keep it for free and see it as a gain.
I was worried that someone may have asked the trader to respond. I could not see how else she would have come across the post. It was starting to feel like harassment, what with the calls, the message here and the email and I would rather she had not mentioned my husbands details.0 -

Oh dear! I'd say pop the email on here (any personal details omitted) and let everyone see the "facts" that she was so fm desperate to air.
Also, what has happened to the remaining 9m?

I don't think it was 10 metres, maybe half that, but I really didn't give it much attention to be fair. Once told we could keep it, we cut some extra lengths as spare liners so ended up with 4 lots and there are some cuts offs which I was going to dispose of. smaller bits obviously did get thrown already.0
