Deleted Thread?

Hello

Do threads get deleted if a trader comes on to reply to the person posting here?

I had posted about a consumer rights issue and I was surprised to see the trader had posted on here. How on earth does that happen? Does anyone from the forum invite the trader on here.? surely not? I had thought the forum was for the consumer to talk and ask for help, not to get in a debate with the trader.

Probably deleted due to the ridiculous legal threats being made by an extremely poor company. MSE tend to have a delete first ask questions later policy :)

But ignore that silly woman's meaningless threats and posturing. She has no leg to stand on :)
One important thing to remember is that when you get to the end of this sentence, you'll realise it's just my sig.

Anyone can post here so how are you supposed to keep traders off.
Traders also have the right to ask for posts to be deleted if they state they are untrue and threaten to sue MSE for liable, they will be deleted for legal reasons.

If you post statements about someone then if they read those statements they are going to respond. It's just human nature.

I believe someone on that thread had screenshots if you need it. There should also be a google cache, if you act quickly.
MSE get very chicken when traders start making threats, despite the fact that the only person in the wrong on there was the company's owner.
By the way, if I were you I'd be seeking legal advice due to her disclosing your/your husband's personal details on a public forum and this breaching her duty under the DPA.

Unfortunately, the way the seller did so was wrong.

That's also quite possibly another reason why the thread was deleted. (As this one will be ;) )

In answer to you question, no one from here invited them on. Traders often type their name into google to find out what people are saying about them on review sites and forums. MSE feature very high in the search results so it's easy for them to come in and reply. No one can stop them, although MSE have a policy of verifying them before they can post in an official capacity, doesn't stop them from doing it though.

Doesn't need to be dangerous. A breach is still a breach. And knowing the OP's first name, and that she's his husband, gives away her identity, something the OP didn't want to do, else she would have done so.

Yes but I can't see anything happening against the company for the breach. It would seem incredibly petty to bother reporting it to anyone.

At the end of the day if I remembered right the OP did receive an item that was £100 more expensive than the one they ordered. I am unsure why everyone is so convinced she is in the right in this case. Despite the unprofessional attitude of the woman who runs the business it does appear there is fault on both sides.
