Benefit and Work annual subscription...

Is it really worth £15.95 for an annual subscription..?? Are the guides that good..? I am currently going through an Atos appeal and am on ESA appeal rate...Would it be worth me paying to look at these guides...?? £15.95 is a lot of money to me and I like to spend my money very wisely..Do I need the guides..???
I am looking for advice from people who have subscribed or know of somene who has subscribed..

Tips on what the Atos appeal may bring I suppose...What sort of things will they ask...How to answer any questions in the correct way as to how I cope with daily tasks etc...Just some ideas on the whole process...
Also, a guide on how to fill any more forms in that I might recieve...I know what my ailments are but using the right words can make one hell of a difference..Does this make sense..?

Agreed here and Consumer Action Group.

I have and I am still considering a subscription to Benefits and Work, for the price it seems inexpensive... Albeit money is money. That said it would be interesting to learn more about the OP's query from MSE members.

Look out for contributions from MuttleytheFrog (busy at the moment), RogerBlack amongst others such as Epitome and BenefitsBaby they always provide clear and consistency good advice on these pages.

They helped me win my Tribunal, guided me through with little knowledge of the Work Capability Assessment and Appeal system... From nil points to Support Group.

    Good luck

I consider it money well spent - the guides are excellent.
To give you an idea, there are 2 ESA guides - one for physical health and one for mental health and they're both over 80 pages long plus the appeals guide which is 35 pages.

I would suggest that you can get an in-depth overview of ESA, appeals and much more for free on the Disability Rights UK website.

And... for people with mental ill health the best resource I have found has been the 'Big Book of Benefits and Mental Health' it is a gold mine of information, with templates, guides to completing forms, appealing etc all for the princely sum of £15 I think. Available from Mind (authour Judy Stenger) and the proceeds go to Mind.

I was a member, downloaded the guides and found them very helpful. Yes I have also learned a lot on here, but at the time I found it useful to have it all in one place.

Now that the goalposts have been shifted again this week

I would probably sign up again for the new guides if/when I find myself in a position of needing them.

    Horses for courses.

Just one other point - B&W often out discounts for their membership fees. As long as you are on their mailing list, you will get them fairly frequently. In fact I think that if I didn't have a discount offer when I wanted to subscribe, I'd probably send a cheeky request for one!

So if you don't want/need to subscribe now, but think you may wish to do so in the future, don't worry about the fact that the discount is about to expire.
