I've been contacted twice by EON (once by phone and once by email) regarding their 18 month fix again tarrif. I'm tempted as my current fix runs out in April and the 18-month fix is only £2.00 more than what I am paying now. I turned down the phoned offer but have mulled it over since then, however I am wondering if this fix is like all the other EON fixes - i.e. can I choose a cheaper fix if one comes up in future without penalty?

Hello Cossack and, yes, you can switch to any of our other tariffs without penalty whenever you wish.

Exit fees don't apply when going from one of our tariffs to another. They only kick in when changing supplier outside the renewal window.

Hope this explains Cossack. Please let me know if you need any more information as happy to help.

Hello SeeMe and I'm sorry you haven't received your Welcome Pack.

This is unusual. Welcome Packs go out within 5 working days of you accepting our quote. If you signed up online, you should've received a confirmation email within 24 hours too.

Please let us know if you're still waiting for the pack. We'll arrange for another to be sent. Our Live Chat advisors on the website will be happy to do this for you. They're online from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and between 8am and 6pm Saturdays.

If you've registered with our website, you can see how the switch is going through the 'Track My Switch' tool.

    Thanks for joining us SeeMe.

Its the 20th now and still no welcome pack, i emailed eon only to be told to phone up a specialist advisor, i should not need to, i have informed eon twice on seperate days about this so they are aware, and the live chat never appears for me on the website, only pree written advisor answers.

As the caveat in the email says, the savings figure quoted is based on certain factors. It's an indication only based on a particular format. Individual circumstances will throw up different variations. Some customers will save more, some less.

    Thanks for your reply Malc.

Could you tell me how E.ON arrive at projected savings when they advise me of new tariffs available?

I have always assumed, because I am in the middle of a fixed term contract, that any savings would be against the fixed term contract.

However I am aware the Energy Club assume any contract has ended and savings are shown against my current suppliers most expensive (standard) rate.

Sorry for the delay with the Welcome Pack SeeMe.

Something certainly seems to have gone wrong here. You should've received the pack by now. Please raise this as a formal complaint. A Complaint Manager will investigate and sort this for you. There's more information about how we look after complaints on our website.

I'm also sorry you've had issues with our Live Chatters. I know we've advisors available as we speak. They'll be here until 8pm tonight and again from 8am to 6pm tomorrow. If you prefer, our phone lines are open from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday and between 8am and 6pm Saturdays. You can also email through the website or use our Social Media channels - twitter and Facebook (both have private messaging to protect sensitive information).

Sorry again for the delay SeeMe and have a good weekend.

Well all my online account has been activated and i can even manage my dd payment it seems.
I gave my first meter reading from my previous supplier to eon, but some thing does not seem right so far. My monthly fixed dd amount has a suggestion that i change it to around £9 per month? thats mad i wish thats all i would use in energy lol, i am now going to spend more time at home from jan so i want to increase my dd. Will have to ask how the £9 per month suggestion has been calculated, must think i live in a dolls house.

My switch is now complete and i am with the new supplier now, gave my final meter readings to my new supplier, who will pass them on to my old supplier and a final bill will be sent to me after being checked by a third party, well 4 days after my switch i have recieved an estimated bill from my old supplier because as of yet they have not recived the final readings.
I got on to them to ask to cancel the estimated bill and wait for the final readings, which they say they can do.
Have my old supplier gone against procedure with this, by sending me this esimated bill?

Well after the above post saying they will wait for the final readings to be sent over, and generate a new bill not an estimated bill, they have sent me another estimated bill to be paid 1 week later than the bill they sent last week.
Have to find out whats going on here, dont want to end up paying twice as the procedure to switch suppliers does not seem to be happening here?

Hello Terry98 and a Happy New Year.

Our quotes are based on 12 months usage multiplied by the unit rate (including VAT) plus one year's standing charges multiplied by the daily rate (including VAT).

The energy usage figures used in the quote are shown at the top of the page on the 'Your Quotes' page.

The same calculation is applied to the existing tariff so the difference between the two can be seen.

    Hope this explains Terry98.

Hello SeeMe and a Happy New Year.

I'm sorry it's taken so long to complete your switch. As you say, we'll send our opening readings to your old supplier via the third party who checks they're in line with past readings. It's important your old supplier uses these readings to close your account. This makes sure the same energy isn't charged twice.

You can take more control over your payments by using the online Direct Debit Manager. Provided the account is billed up to the latest readings, you can alter the monthly payments by up to 20 per cent up or down; by up to 5 per cent up or down without readings.

    Thanks for your patience SeeMe.
