Co-operative Energy reviews: Give your feedback

Just wanted to compliment Co-Op Energy for the excellent support I received this morning. Having had a new gas boiler last April, we were well in credit on our latest bill and the projection on the new fixed price deal meant we were overpaying. So I rang and both the refund and reduction in the monthly direct debit were both dealt with efficiently and to my satisfaction. I am now paying £7 a month more than the very cheapest deal but I will stick with the Co-Op for now.

Switched to Co-op last year. At the end of the deal Cheap Energy Club recommended I move to British Gas. However they did not take into account the new Co-Op internet rate which works out for me £159 pa cheaper than the recommended BG deal. I notified CE Club but received no response. CE Club is great as it made my first switch so easy but one needs to verify any new rates available from an existing supplier before switching again. BG sales response was very quick but it took over 30 minutes being passed from one department to another to cancel the switch.0

Failing to respond to emails about the switch is, however, unforgivable and, going by reports on these forums, it is typical of CEC.
I am not convinced that CEC is any better than other switching sites and prefer to do the job myself. At least I know who to deal with if things go wrong.Warning: In the kingdom of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.

Horrible company - left them nearly a year ago and just got a demand for money out of the blue - no bill, no justification - see Co-op woes thread.0

I joined Coop over a year ago, in the first few months there were numerous problems caused by their IT, however things have improved considerably since then and they remain competitive price wise.0

The fact that you have made duplicate posts, singing the praises of the Co-op makes me suspicious of your motives.
Do you work for them.?0 -

I was in the past also very critical of the co op energy but do agree that there has recently been a big improvement. My bills are accurate, it is easy now to change my DD payments by email but mainly the March 2017 new contract is what clinched it for me to stay.0 -

Most of us have better things to do than hunt around for a thread which may or may not be the one you are referring to.
Give us a clue, Cleudo.
Sorry Consumerist you apparently have no clue :rotfl:0 -
One year ago i switched from Scottish power to the co-operative energy, the switch was fine, i was 100% honest when applying stating what my current usage and billing was.
I was very happy with the new tariff they provided me until now!
A letter was sent to me in the middle of February stating a direct debit review had taken place and my direct debit was to change.
To my utter shock my monthly bill was increasing from £82.17 to a whopping £157.00 an increase of £74.83 per month to cover my -£468.52 debit.
How can a company who states they can save me money via the energy club on mse drop a bomb like this? I feel i have been conned.
I have contacted the company and been offered £50 and no explination,i refused this offer and they have since not responded after a so called system update.I am fuming over this!
The letter states if no contact is made by myself the money will be taken next cycle! so its the old ignore the customer trick,i found Olayinka Fatogun the advisor very cocky to say the least.
Has anyone else been hit like this?:mad:0
