Bye bye Co-op
I wonder how many will switch tomorrow when, by my calculations, it will be 50 days until the end of the March 2016 fix!0 -
I normally have my moans about the co op energy on this or the other site but I have to admit they do seem to be getting their act together. When I am asked to submit readings I quickly get a bill which seems to be correct and has a lot of extra information on it. Same when I ask to change my direct debit using email it now gets actioned and replied within a few hours. So now just need to get their site fully sorted and I might just stay.
I received an email, asking for me to submit my meter readings for a bill calculation to be done on 11 Feb. For months now I have been submitting my readings on the 12th of the month, but I decided to run with it and submitted on the 6th.
I decided today to check on the website, and found that my bill had been calculated, and requested a download. "Your bill has been archived, and you must submit a request for a copy". Bearing in mind this bill is 1 day old.......
I called in and after a short wait a customer rep said that he could not understand what was going on, and sent me a bill.
I have to say, this is the last straw for me, and I will be transferring out as quick as possible - due date end of May. Thank goodness I am in slight deficit, so I don't need to worry about chasing a settlement.0 -
IF you now find the Coop energy is now sending correct bills taking the correct amount from you DD's and you want cheaper energy and don't want to pay the £60 exit fee then it is well worth a change of tariff to the new Coop March 2017 tariff. It has to be done on line now and the paperwork takes 3 weeks but your new lower prices will be back dated to the date you apply. If you apply you first get a comparison with your present payments before you need to go ahead. This new rate is very competitive with the any energy supplier. https://www.cooperativeenergy.coop/0

THEN I read the same thing here doh...0 -
btw I chose Co-Op Energy for its "big brand" name. Over the 18 months I've been with them, they had a massive, botched migration (to Oracle judging by the URL), customers couldn't access their information, and I had to prod them to bill me.
Things have since been sorted out. It seems their customer service people are UK only and they are *so* helpful *despite* the systems problems they have had! I think if they had offered a competitive rate I would have stayed with them, but I can't ignore lopping 20% off the bill with "Flow"...0 -

Co-op's March 2017 could save me around £100 per year compared to Fair & Square October 2016.
I think I might take my chances with Co-op again since I, personally, have not had the problems others have reported.
Only time will tell if it would be the right choice.Warning: In the kingdom of the blind, the one-eyed man is king.

Same for me as I could save £22 per year but have to pay an exit fee also the cheaper tariff is available immediately. Fingers crossed I made the right decision0 -

Nope!! as they was advising I should do a block move to British Gas which I nearly did until I noticed this March 2017 offer from Coop energy !0 -
Just wanted to compliment Co-Op Energy for the excellent support I received this morning. Having had a new gas boiler last April, we were well in credit on our latest bill and the projection on the new fixed price deal meant we were overpaying. So I rang and both the refund and reduction in the monthly direct debit were both dealt with efficiently and to my satisfaction. I am now paying £7 a month more than the very cheapest deal but I will stick with the Co-Op for now.0
