Just been through DD's wardrobe. Everything now sorted into t-shirts/hoodies/jeans/uniform etc and a stickynote over the top of the hook of the hanger. Plan is that whenever she takes something out to wear the note comes off. In a few months time if she hasn't worn it it'll still have the note on it and I can assess whether its worth keeping or not
I tried the "hanging backwards" but DD was hanging clean washing in that way so almost everything was hung backwards permanently :rotfl: Also created another pile of washing - 2 of her tops have really bad oil stains on them. Going to ask her whether she wants them keeping or shall I rag-bag them. I'll be going near a charity bin on Friday on the way to the bank
Still haven't decided on tea....:o

MrsMP I hope your boiler's fixed by now – been there, done that; you may remember our boiler died a few days before Xmas, and 2 days later the immersion followed suit, so all over Xmas we were boiling up kettles, and if we wanted a bath, we filled the two jam cauldrons with water and boiled those up!:D
not fixed yet, but he is sure its just the switch so is bringing one round tonight i was really worried the boiler would be condemed as its so old but luckily he didnt see that as a problem and said older stuff is built to last and more reliable.
we are relying on the kettle, and various saucepans to heat water along with a small oil filled radiator to warm the landing at night.
most embarrassing part was when i said to him we couldnt understand why the emmersion had also packed up, he looked in the airing cupboard and burst out laughing. aparently we have the switch but its never been connected to the water tank and it doesnt have an emersion fitted, so for the last 28 years ive been flicking the switch thinking that im speeding the boiler up heating the water if the girls had used the tank full hair washing before DH had ad a bath, and all i was doing was putting a little red light on in the cupboard.
he did say we can have an emmersion fittted if we want but as ive managed without one for 28 years i think ill manage a bit longer:o
i hope your heating is now problem freeSPC~12 ot 124

I could scream
I have been trying to deal with a big frog today - sorting out our website - and every time I try to log on I hit another problem. It is really getting me down, particularly as I thought I set everything up properly before Christmas when we upgraded the package. It turns out that I hadn't, so we might as well not have had the website and email since the upgrade, as nobody could contact us by mail anyway :mad::mad: (though the people I had hoped to hear from have got our phone number as well)
I woke up far too early this morning and haven't really achieved anything all day. It's no use waiting for DH :A to come home and asking him to help me as he's a lot less familiar with the website system than I am
and I'm no expert!
He has just gone off to cardiology for a pre-assessment for a procedure which is to be carried out next week. Unlike him, he had remembered the time of his appointment as 3.15 and then only realised at the last minute that it was 3.05 - I just hope he has made it in time. We only live a 5-minute drive from the hospital, but you have to find a parking space and then walk what seems like a mile to the department, and he can't hurry.
I did ring the plumber this morning and he said he'd ring me back in an hour but he said he was in the middle of a job and trying to sort out a problem. I still haven't heard anything from him. I will try again tomorrow.
So not a good day here so far :mad::eek::mad::eek:0 -
Oooh Ionafan, that sounds like a day most of us would want to be done with. Would it help if I said that when you look back on getting the website upgraded and back up and running, you'll realise that there was a lot you needed to learn, and hadn't realised it? I'm working on a project that has been beset by problems for years, but finally, I think we're almost there. I've learned rather a lot of things I didn't know I needed to know, and I'm much more able to problem-solve generally as a result. I hope Mr Ionafan's appointment goes well.
Flying on hold here, while I declutter some fruit tea.Better is good enough.0 -
Thanks, Honey Bear.
I screamed loud enough for one of the nice young men at 1and1 Customer Care to answer my call, and both the website and the webmail are all sorted now :T I would never have managed to swallow the frog without his help
Now I shall be able to get on with checking and updating the web pages tomorrow and cross another longstanding job off my list
I don't normally freak out like that but I suspect it was a combination of frustration, tiredness and general stress over DH
Am about to sell 2 more items on eB@y, so once I've put our meal in the oven I shall be able to pack up some more parcels
I did manage to wrap DH's birthday presents earlier - a minor achievement but a nice one.0 -
Thanks Dusty, I'm in.

I have had a quick catch up on posts and I saw that you were on at 2am skintbreeder. I could not switch off from work and eventually gave up at 2am and headed for the sofa so DH could sleep. I can't blame a new baby though. At least I made it through a full day at work, I even looked up the bullying and harassment policy. I have settled for a quick S&S of the kitchen, paid credit card bill and will put wm on when DS back from swimming. I have bought some nytol for laterMake £10 per day in July £45.48/£310
