Replacing a PS3 controller battery?

Hi DS2 has told me that his PS3 controller isn't holding the charge any more.

I plan to take the controller off him and charge it for a few hours to check that he isn't being impatient.

However, is it possible to replace the battery?
If so , which one do I need, where's the best place to buy one, and is it tricky to do?

The thriftiest way (perhaps the MSE way?) would be to just tell him to plug it in while he plays!
