However, MSE is dynamic, it is changing ALL of the time so there is no real cached page, hence every request for this page requires your ISP to send out a request as well hence slowing the process down.
however, this delay shouldnt normally be noticeable unless if perhaps your ISP was in another country that way your request would go to them(delay) they would request the page from this server(delay) the page gets sent back to the ISP(delay) and then from the ISP to you(delay).
my description may not be 100% accurate but thats the gist of it
EFH gives us a German IP address (hope I got that right) as others on EFH forum experience difficulties due to this with other sites but there has been no mention of this site.
Think you might have hit the nail on the head.

Me too!
Several times over the last few days I have experienced sudden slowness in page changing and even complete hang ups.
I've learned that, for me at least, the remedy is to log off and leave MSE altogether, wait a few minutes and then log back on again.
When I do I see that the info thingy says that I was last on line (for example) three hours ago when in fact it was only five minutes.
It also shows me on my user_cp list of posts and in New Posts a whole bunch of posts I've already seen - including my own posts! well obviously.
So what it looks like is that somehow the server "lost" me, eventually stopped "feeding" me (or whatever the proper term is) and the only way to set it right was, as I say, log off - log back on.
Edit: I did check that I could still access other web sites with no difficulty to eliminate the possiblity of my browser or my server being at fault.
Hope that helps.Hi, I'm a Board Guide on the Old Style and the Consumer Rights boards which means I'm a volunteer to help the boards run smoothly and can move and merge posts there. That's what I do and it tells me I have not been on-line for longer than it should.Still think it's TRAF trying to pinch our postsGuest.0 -
