  • I have the code but its not working for me either. It keeps saying that I have no loyalty points when I enter the code.

With a bit of luck they'll invalidate the codes given out today, but I bet it won't happen.

I think it would take too long to generate another 30,000 codes again. Also people have already booked travel so it would be quite hard.

Some people on Student Savers are claiming to have got £100s of codes. I can't see how they can afford not to invalidate them. Obviously if tickets have already been booked it's harder but it should be pretty straight forward to invalidate those just sitting around in accounts.

I've briefly read some of the comments on the other forums that were highlighted by posters and all I can say is... oh dear.

When people abuse offers like this it reminds me of the reason why we need rules and penalties to keep people in check.

I can't see how the Sun / RSH will be able to overlook the misuse of this offer, because I suspect there will be a huge number of complaints.

The fact is that all the people who secured multiple codes for their own use (in contravention to the one code per person rule) have broken the rules of the promotion. This could be investigated by RSH / the Sun using their database.

I also point out the following rule:
    12. If the Promoter reasonably believes that any claim is being made unlawfully or illegally they may reject or cancel any claim and you agree that you will have no claim against the Promoter in respect of any rejection or cancellation. The Promoter reserves the right to take any further action it deems appropriate in such instances. The Promoter reserves the right at its sole discretion to eliminate or disqualify any entries or entrants it regards as being in breach of these conditions or the spirit of the promotion.

Some posters have stated that it would be too messy for RSH to sort out because some people have already bought tickets using the free credit.

However, (1) the tickets are not processed instantly, (2) they know who you are and if you've ever had tickets delivered to your home / work, they already know where you live or work, (3) in any case, they have your i.p. address and could trace you via your ISP.

Being mindful of (2) and (3) they could take legal action for any loss incurred or otherwise attempt to recover any debt owed to them as a result of fraud.

Also, people should be very careful about what they post online, such as scripts exposing website vulnerabilities for others to exploit. They could potentially open themselves up to legal action for the whole amount of the loss incurred (given that pursuing one or two individuals might be considered the easier option).

This particular example is all the more surprising because the individual who posted the script on the facebook page is not anonymous; using his facebook profile and google, it's possible to discover where he works, his home address and even how much his house costs and when his house was bought. This just emphasises the need to be careful about what you choose to post online.

Just writing your penalty ticket out now. £300 if paid within 28 days. :p
  • How do you know if the code has worked? I got one saying already used, and another I didn't get any message! Will that have worked and just waiting for it to show? Can't see anything yet
