Thanks Mackeroo
I think I'm gonna head to bed now and catch up on some sleep. Night all x0 -
Hi Lillith. You have been so brave to talk with your Mum. The situation with your Dad must have been so hard to hear. Just think how proud of you he'd be to know that you didn't have that drink tonight. It IS our natural instinct to turn to drink and whoever said chocolate helps is so right! (Or frozen fat free yogurts, sweet and very yummy, but that's just me!) Lots of hugs and well done!
27 af and 29 in total! I got my month medal at my meeting today, along with a ton of hugs and I am so proud. I'm looking at it now, It's dark red I've got it right here! I've asked a lady I know through AA to help me with the steps and we are going to meet for a coffee on Thurs or Fri this week. It's the first time I've thought enough of myself to ask, so that is a big acheivement for me X2022 Comp total (prizes + free spins): £494.81 #20 £12 a day Jan: £382.95/£372 #57 360 1p challenge: £17.70 £10 a day Feb: £571.09/£280 March: £311.96/£3100 -
Lileth, I don't know what to say. You went to your mum's ready to talk about one thing, and then the bombshell was well and truly dropped.
Even though you say your dad passed, and this was caused through drink, please do not be surprised if you do want to drink. I know you said it has made you want to give up even more, but you are a human being and we can be unpredictable especially when upset.
You had an idea of how your father passed, and now you know what really happened. I can't see into the future but I reckon that you will start the grieving process again in a way to grieve for the father figure that passed through drinking. I might be wrong, but allow yourself to come to terms with this information and please, I don't want you to drink, but I know of some people whose parent died through drinking and they found themself drinking even though they didn't want to and it becomes a vicious circle. I am not trying to bring you down, I suppose I'm relating to this because I always do the opposite of what I really want for myself. I hope that you will be able to cope with the next few days, I will be thinking about you, my dad is my idol too but he's still with me. Please, take comfort in whatever you need to do, I hope you won't drink.
My scores are 23 AF days and sign me up for the SNC please Mackeroo.

Jak well done on getting your month medal from AA. Whoop whoop! You are an amazing girl/woman/mother, I am so pleased for you and I want to share in your happiness. The progress you are making is really encouraging for us all, and every single little step you take, I feel that we are all taking it and standing and walking behind you. I wish I had half the courage that you have, and the will and the resolve. I will say one day that I have been AF for a month hopefully soon, but not all in one go lol. Please continue to be an inspiration, you are helping me so much and I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Thanks 41, you're the best! I feel like we are in tandem also. Our journeys are so very similar. It's really amazing to chat with someone and feel you can really get what the other is going through. You are doing really well, and don't forget, you have an amazing support system on here!
