Sending you these mari (far better than the pervy hugs). Hope you have a good evening with OH whatever you decide.

Thanks guys you are fab :A

I have reflected on yesterday and worse things could have happened, there will be other opportunities and now was obviously not the right time for me. OH and I went out and had a lovely evening and I did have 2 glasses of red, but that was it, i remembered to stop :)

Shaggy can you put me down for 20/28 for Feb please.

Jak glad to hear you are feeling a bit better today, think we all look back at past relationships through rose tinted glasses sometimes. Think though from what you have said you are much better off now and who knows Mr Right maybe just around the corner!

Right I must get off of here and get the ironing done :(

Have a lovely Saturday everyone :)

    Mari xx

    I don't know what I'm trying to achieve?:rotfl:
I want to try to drink within recommended limits, and I want to give up, but if I cant't do either I want to become more aware of my pattern of drinking, the amount that I drink and what I actually put in my mouth, and to stop and think before I do that.
Everytime I make a promise to myself or set a target I get all rebellious and childish and so self-sabotage, so I'm just going to roll with it.
I'm so scared about messing it up. Want to improve my life and my health and know that alcohol is not needed in my life, end of. Can someone tell my body and my mind and my soul though.:D

That's exactly how I am, especially the rebelliousness bit about meeting targets. I hate feeling I have to do something, and I will purposefully go the other way, as enjoy alcohol some nights. It's why I don't do the SNC anymore, as I will not complete it, but will do so if not taking part. Perverse, I know.

I just wanted to get out of the habit of buying it every day.

From what you said about focusing on the low proof drinks and not getting drunk I'd say you're already at that stage 41. The dilemma about giving up/cutting down is a difficult one. In the long term, you could try the SNC and then try to be controlled at weekends. You might find that when weekends come you're not that fussed about a drink. It rather depends on your lifestyle whether dividing the week up into 'school nights' and weekends would work for you.

    17 please, Shaggy, ta

Nearly joined DH in a glass of red wine last night (I normally drink white, so could have managed just one glass, I think) however, it was late, and the fact that there was a cork to be removed managed to remind me to be AF :j

Screw top bottles have a lot to answer for, they just make drinking too easy!:rotfl:

    Hello ev1

I did drink last night - 2 cans of Guinness and one bottle of lager so nowhere near the half bottle of vodka I would have had before.

That's it! That was ma drink day of the month so I will go for 28 AFD in Feb please.

Keep up the good work peeps!

This made me laugh Pricey! I'm the same - it seems so much more hassle to find the corkscrew and pull out a cork that it does to just crack open a screwtop that often times it's saved me from having 'an extra glass' at the end of the evening.

Wasn't AF last night but just a couple of small glasses. I might have a glass tonight as I have some paperwork to do and it's nice to have a glass when doing the filing!

Well done Kitty, great that you've cut down so much
    Trying to keep in budget.

  • Count me in for the SNC again please Mackeroo and thanks for doing these. It is great to have a short term goal.

This was the first one I have actually completed. Used to join in a long time ago but never completed one!
