Welcome UrbanLegend, you'll find lots of support on here. Someone will be able to opine about AF beers, I'm sure.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?
  • 5AFDs For me. Wish it was always as easy as tonight.

I'd agree it does take an age to get to a 'take it or leave it' situation but for those disheartened by the idea of two years AFness does get easier day by day.

For me, I couldn't and cannot ever have a take it or leave it scenario with alcohol.
Moderation and control is not something in my alcoholic sphere.
When I went without alcohol, I'd still have the washing-machine head and so after a few days or a week, I'd have a drink to shut my head up.
So for me, I had to change. Moderation and controlled drinking will never be on my radar. I just don't understand them. When I have a drink, I ALWAYS want the next one. The thought of having a glass and then putting the bottle back in the fridge is a mystery to me.

I'm glad that there are people like yourself can moderate, and believe me I tried hard to be like that, but I am not the same. It is what it is, there is no changing the fact, that I'm an alcoholic.

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

    Hi guys,
I stumbled on this thread tonight after making a decision to give up alcohol(for ever is the plan). I wouldn't say I'm an alcoholic or dependant on alcohol but i would say that i don't know my limits when I'm out and at home i seem to be drinking more frequently. Im also heavily into fitness, running etc so it all feels right for me. Im not a nice drunk and if I've have a lot i can change into a person I'm not. Ie abusive, rude etc (but never violent i may add).
Im hoping that this thread will be able to help me out and I'm hoping to find encouragement from other people here. Its a big step but I'm actually looking forward to the challenge.
My first question is has anyone tried the non-alcho beers? Are they worth considering when out etc?

Pushing out the welcomewagon.gif for you. Good Luck with your goal. Just shout if you want to join the remainder of the February challenge but don't worry if you don't keep posting and will cheer you on.

Bavaria 4 for £1 at asda are the best I have tried
I had to replace my car, I got a tesco interest free cc with 18 months interest free period

£5600 with 18 months to pay it.
