I was an angry drunk on Christmas Day, and apparently said something unkind to DH. I've apologised, but have no idea what I said. Roll on dry January for me.
I'm an irritating drunk, it drives my OH mad. Can't imagine how many hours I've wasted regretting the night before. Best wishes for 2014 xxDFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0 -

Is there a new thread in January, or does this one carry on?
As Jo says we just carry on, Shaggy eifficiently keeps the chart on how we do against target each month.
Jo just wanted to say you have done brilliant to make that decision and stick to it through the hardest time of the year. Well done! It takes guts to do it publicly and you deserve all the happiness it will bring you - and it will :T0 -
Nobody judges on this thread which is great
However, I think I drink more than anyone else hereand that worries me greatly
Tonight will be AF as I have a full on all day hangover from last night. I feel dreadful.
This addiction is gonna get it's !!! whipped next year - BE GONE BOOZE MONSTER!!!
I make my AF days 13/14 so almost at target.0 -

I don't think so fruball but it's not a competition so don't worry. As jo was saying earlier we all have different aims and different relationships with alcohol. If it's too much for you then you're right to do something about it.
I'm not having AF days over the holiday, didn't plan to but the difference for me is that I'm totally in control. No stupid behaviour, nothing to apologise for.0 -
Thanks everyone for the wonderful support, it's lovely to feel supported in doing this
I am going out for a posh meal on 4th Jan but the 2 people i am going out with are both tee-total, so i will be too0 -
AF for me yesterday, I've lost track of how many this month but I don't feel it's been a good month at all drink wise.Trying to keep in budget.

Lost my way last night slightly, me and OH had a bit of a row (well actually it was more silence than rowing) and I got up coat on planning to go to the supermarket, turned right instead of left, bought beer and a tin of beans in the offy and came back and drank the beer down with some beans on toast. I tipped away what wasn't drunk last night. I'm not beating myself up, instead contemplating the reality of my statement on here about filling the void. I took my eye off the ball. Feel positive today. Non-alcoholic beer in the fridge, got choc Yule log, kids are coming to stay with me for a whole week cos their dad is going away for new year and life is good!DFW Nerd no. 496 - Proud to be dealing with my debts!!0

Well done for getting it into perspective and getting straight back on with life. It's what you have today that's important and should dictate your feelings, not what happened yesterday. The only thing yesterday is useful for is a lesson learned :T0
