I didn't have any alcohol yesterday, even though there is about a quarter of a bottle in the cupboard (go me!). I plan not to have any tonight either.
My AF target for the 10th till the 31st is 14
Welcome! That's very good thinking starting now rather than waiting until New Year and great that your DH is on board too. What are you planning to do with money saved? It really helps if you can see it building up.Wanna_Bee_Free wrote: »PS thank you for my 7 day santa Shaggy! that put a smile on my face!

Yes, he's really pleased that we're tackling our money problems. I really want to move to the sea, and unless we can pay off some of our debts, it's not likely to happen. It's excellent motivation, especially as I have strong ostrich tendencies!
I'm on 2/14 AFDs0 -
Morning all and welcome tillergirl
Back on the hot chocolate last night so that makes 6/10 AFD's for me please Shaggy.
I am still amazed at how much more of a 'restful' sleep I have when I haven't had a drink - when I first had a couple of nights AF I didn't sleep particularly well but I think my body has got used to it now and I wake up feeling so much more refreshed when I haven't had a drink - even a small amount now makes me restless at night
Aiming for another AF tonight so that I can get my 7 day Santa too.
Have a good day everyone0 -

Hey Sukeyboo - I feel exactly the same. For the first time in goodness knows how long I woke feeling refreshed and ready to take on the world. No shakes or feeling 'Im never drinking again'. The last few mornings havent been pleasant because I wasnt sleeping well - in fact they were no different from the morning after drinking ones
Last night was not as difficult as the evening before. :j I was working until 10pm in my part-time job and made sure as soon as I got home I went to bed. I decided the bottle of wine I was buying for a friend could be purchased this morning so there was no temptation in the house last night.
DD had opened a bottle of wine by the time I got in but I did not succum because I knew I had to clock in with you lot today. Brilliant, brilliant support...thank you!!
Shaggy please put me down for 8/9
Tonight will be a major test because Thursday night is usually the start of my weekend (bonkers I know) but from the age of 15 that was my excuse to start drinking for the weekend, but I know I have you guys to chat to if I need it.**Stay excellent, Stay AF**This is a system account and does not represent a real person. I have the same problem with Thursdays 5 year - but I am just starting to conquer the need to start my weekend drinking on a Thursday - I have only been able to manage this with the support of the lovely people on this thread :T.0 -
Morning :santa2:
1 more AFD.
ShaggyxWhat do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.0 -

I hope to sleep really well tonight to make up for it!
WBF I use herbal nytol and find it great. I don't think it works for everyone however.
Historians have shown that people used to have 2 sleeps in the past - a first sleep and then they were awake and then a second sleep. It's called a segmented sleeping pattern.During this waking period people were quite active. They often got up, went to the toilet or smoked tobacco and some even visited neighbours. Most people stayed in bed, read, wrote and often prayed. Countless prayer manuals from the late 15th Century offered special prayers for the hours in between sleeps.
I doubt reading that will help you sleep....but at least it might explain why we wake up during the night! What do we do when we fall?
