11/20 AFDs after making a good choice to have a hot chocolate instead of opening a bottle of red wine.
Welcome Scotchbonnet, you'll get heaps of encouragement and support here. It doesn't matter how much or how little you drink a week, if it feels too much then it is too much. What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?0 -
hi scotch..i was drinking a bottle everynight and 3 on a sunday (shared with hubby) ..way too much. i decided enough was enough on november the 5th. Ive found treating myself at night ..hot choc..or if im really craving alchol ill have a becks blue which tastes very like beer but no booze.
I love now waking up feeling energised, for the first time in years i do not have S.A.D..no ibs , skin more sparkling ..i have nothing but postives to say for being sober, i dont want to go back. i have had 2 mini slips but its fine..ive sorted why i did it. Sending you loads of love xx
2 afs to report again..shaggy thanks including tonight ..love the new christmas iconsCompers challenge 27/70

Scotch - I was drinking much more than you, between 2/3 and 1 bottle a night! I found the first few days AF the worst because it was a habit and I didn't know what to do instead. It has taken me a while, but there are so many other things to do, so many things to take pleasure in. Tonight I sat and swigged a hot chocolate with my OH whilst discussing what we think makes us happy. Before I went AF he would have been lucky to get a grunt of conversation out of me once I hit the wine!
After a week it started to get easier for me, just bear with it. I always try to remember that if I am not feeling too good, it always passes and is replaced by being grateful I didn't cave in.
Shaggy - I also love the Christmas smileys!
27 AF days today.
And finally December.........please set my target at 25/31 AF days.0 -
19 AF tonight!

15 AFDsCan I try again please in December. I managed a month on the Go sober challenge, so have got my DH to give me a pound for every day I dont have any alcohol and will donate it to the Phillipines appeal. I told him its cheaper than paying for a bottle of wine every day!Total weight lost 6.5/73lbs starting yet again. Afds August 10/15. /8 Sept.0

Welcome to all the newbies :hello:
Some very high targets being set for December - you obviously all have a lot more willpower than I do
Even though I said I find it easy not to drink in the early part of the week I did succumb last night but it was a special occasion - a friend is moving away on Friday and we had a little leaving party for her after our Zumba class last night so just a small glass of Pimms was consumed
Have a good day all0 -

Been to personal trainer & I now have the remainder of the day off apart from one good samaritan act i've agreed to perform. No Way would I ever drink on PT day as it makes a mockery of going in the first place!
So, with that in mind I am stating 20 AF for today!
Welcome to all the Newbies - I hope that you all find this thread as helpful, supportive and encouraging as I have!
