Hi everyone - good (?) to see you 115K. Sorry I went awol again from the thread, problems.....

Have just read 12 pages of posts (!) sorry not to have acknowledged them but here's a global THANK YOU to you all.

I've been having such issues with DD (14) - she spends her life on twitter, & being a bit naive used the house PC (homework!?) so when I googled twitter thinking I might give it a go her tweets came up - not in her name but an odd user name, loads of horrible tweets about how much she hates me & lots more besides. I faced her with it as I hadn't been snooping & she broke down & begged forgiveness etc & claimed pmt, she wrote me a LONG letter about how sorry she is & how much she loves me & deleted the tweets, also said nobody we know knows it's her iyswim. Some days later I sneaked a look at her ipod (again naive - she told me her security code ages ago & has never changed it) & it was even worse - she has ANOTHER user name & the tweets are blocked but obv I could read them on her ipod, just horrific what she tweets about me & the names she calls me. And the language! I can't let on I know this or she'll know I've been on her ipod. It's like reading stuff from a total stranger, I don't know who she is any more, & I don't know what to do. There's no obvious problem face to face so it's hard to reconcile the girl I chat to with the total filth & unhappiness spilling out of her via twitter.

Sorry to go on at such length but I despair (the whole business is making me cry just writing this) & guess how I've been coping? Yes, well, the "usual"; boringly blo*dy predictable.

I can't see a way out of it all at the moment, I know drowning myself in chardonnay isn't the answer but I just need to blot it out. I still cook us a really healthy meal every night & go to a lot of trouble esp now she doesn't eat meat - tuna steak marinaded all day & stir fry last night nom nom except....I'm sure I enjoyed it when I ate it but I don't actually remember eating it. All sorts of waste - waste of time waste of money. That's drinking for you.

In response to a way earlier discussion - my parents were certainly social drinkers only & I very rarely saw them even mildly tiddly except maybe at Christmas but all 5 of us have always "enjoyed a drink" or 6. I seem to be the only one who hasn't grown out of it though.

Sorry such a long post, are you still awake?!
