Well, I did treat myself to wine last night and wish I hadn't because this morning I feel very sluggish. DH and shared a bottle of white, so not excessive, but it's really had an effect - perhaps because i hadn't drunk for 5 days before.
Anyway, I'm off on my holidays now for a week - I'll try not to drink too much
Have a good weeekTrying to keep in budget.

I 'treated' myself to wine last night too. And had too much - considerably more than Gien  OK, so my one planned non AFD night this weekend was last night. I must be strong tonight to keep on target :j
Hope you enjoy your holiday, Gien!
Have a good Saturday everybody0 -
Good morning. I'm back (ish). After my attempts for August and September were completely diabolical and my mood was getting worse and worse, something has snapped this week. I've been so down that I was contemplating going to the docs however I knew I'd have to be honest about the amount I was drinking so decided to keep a mood/food/drink diary. Somehow, writing it all down has helped. It's funny I had convinced myself I drank cos I was unhappy at work/stressed/couldn't sleep, seems I was unhappy at work/stressed/couldn't sleep cos I was hungover. All the time. I'm on day 6 and feeling better than I have in ages. I won't deny it's been hard, anyone who saw how badly I did in the last couple of months (which believe me were an improvement on the last few years) will realise wine was one of my best friends, however every day has been a little victory. I'm also not saying I'll never drink again, I may have one tonight as I'm away but then if I do, I know tomorrow I can go without again, the world won't come crashing in if I do. I'll be gutted if I can't make this last now. Sorry I've not read all the posts, there's so many but hello everyone, hope you're all doing well.Battling booze, bulge and bills.

Hi all, glad to see a lot of people doing well so far this month.
We have been really busy so today is the first time I've had to catch up. I don't like the month starting on a Tuesday as Tuesday is our definite night out and it just puts us of to a bad start.
Did manage an AF day on Thursday and the rest of the time we've not been going mad so not too bad i will post 1AF day so far this month. OH already has a cider in hand so i think tonight i will have a couple of wines.
Enjoy Saturday all.:j0 -
Today is an AFD
Sober Saturday
That is 3/15 for me so far this month, please Shaggy.0 -
AF here too - so that makes me 4/25 please Mistress Shaggy.
Hugs OWAM - a lot of us have been there. Wine's been one of my best 'chums' for years.
I use to think that having a few glasses everyday made me cope with the stress of my life as a single mum - but I'd come to realise that it just added to my stresses/problems on a deeper level. OK I was functioning well at work/home and pretty hard working but not a happy inner bunny. And the guilt was overwhelming. A bad habit that I got myself into.
Happy inner bunnies are always something working for. As is being nice to yourself, I take each day as a shiny new one.
Hope you're all having a great weekend - mine's a weekend off as I'm working and keeping a clear head. Not saying that at tea-time a bottle of wine wasn't a nice thought - but had a big meal quickly instead and a bath. The thought passed.
It doesn't always - but happily today it did.
