Managed 24 AFDs but my long streak may end on Friday for the sake of my mental health.

I've been dealing with a stress/anxiety issue for the past year that has suddenly flared up since Sunday. I need to relax and unwind to see if I am just a bit highly strung recently before I see my doctor about medication or counselling as I feel a bit trapped at the moment. Getting to 4 months means a lot and it would annoy me to not get there but I was only originally aiming for 100 days anyway so not the end of the world.

17 AFDs today. My lovely manager is allowing me to work from "home" for August, so I can go and stay with my mum. I'll no doubt put in more hours than contracted. I've just got to book one day a week as holiday, and that can be whichever day I choose. Such a relief. Haven't told mum yet, will do that after I tell my siblings tomorrow evening.
What would you get if all you got was what you were thankful for?
  • Hi all
Just came across this thread - has my name written all over it!

I have currently completed my 3rd AFD which is a major achievement for me, I am aiming to get through a week of no drinking and then keep edging it out a bit :-)

Well another stressful day - managed to speak with my dad who is still going through alcohol withdrawal - he is going through a very paranoid stage and wouldn't believe it was me one the phone - it's breaking my heart and I just don't know what to do for the best.

However I didn't use it as an excuse to crack open the vino

Well done. I think all you can do is be there for him and try to be strong for you both.:A

Great news about your August arrangements satchmo. Your mum will be thrilled.

Welcome diva, that's a very good start. You don't have to set a target if you don't want to. One day at a time is fine.

    12 AFDs please Shaggy.

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.

Pushing out the Welcome Wagon for you...welcome-wagon.gif Do you want me to put you on the list for the July monthly challenge? There are 7 days left plus the three you have already completed. Or you can be Target Free - or you can just pop on to the thread for a chat!
