10 AFDs and 4 SNCs for the challenge this week please.
  • Hi everyone. Just got turned down for a fluid card lol.
My benefit stops on 17th July and I have been trying to plan ahead. Currently I have £370 with Tesco which is 0% til July 2014, so I've been trying to reduce the amount I owe so that I can set up a DD for £25 which is the minimum payment so I need to get it down to £325, so I'm getting there. Only thing is my Halifax Clarity card is still £286.18 and I use it to purchase things and then pay it off every month. Hence, I am trying to get a 0% purchase card, but the Halifax all in one you can't apply for if you have a Halifax credit card and the Tesco one you can't if you have a Tesco one. I will just have to pay it off and be careful. This is the kick up the jacksey I need, as I have been running up my credit card and then paying it off, but if I thought about it before I paid out in the first place, then I probably wouldn't have run it up so much.
Anyway, as from today I am writing all my spending down. It certainly is a deterrent and I'm quite proud of the £18.32 I have spent today. I know it may seem a bit OTT but I need to recognise what I am doing, no point swapping an alcohol addiction for a spending addiction. In essence, an addictive personality lol.

Tesco Credit Card £250 £25 DD 0% for next 10 months.

Barclaycard Initial £241.45 0% for next 7 mths.

    Hello,

Well other half and I stayed away at a plush coastal town for a wedding at the weekend. Friday night we went out and met a friend and whilst we had quite a few to drink over the course of the evening I stayed off wine which normally makes me swallow it down like a Gannett. Unfortunately, when we got back to the hotel, other half and I then sat in an empty bar, lit only by borrowed light from the main reception having the receptionist pouring us doubles! Woke up feeling rough!!!

Wedding was great and although I drank steadily all day didn't go mad on it and paced myself! In bed by midnight and woke up feeling fine!

Last night was 1 x AF night, tonight has been and 1 x AF making my total for June 5 AF nights so far!

    Yeah!!!

Hope all going well with you all!

Hugs to those who are about.

Been mostly AF for a goodly while, small glasses just now and then, hope you're all grand? I read, but with new (ish) crazy busy job rarely get time to post. Without out this thread, I'd not have this job.

Keep at it chaps, tis life changing ;)

Popping in to declare 7/22 AF days Shaggy and 1/4 SNC for this week please Gien.

Didn't drink Friday or Saturday nights but had a single glass of red on Sunday. Tried to drink it in the garden but was so cold I took it indoors. This is June isn't it?

Feeling v.happy and content this week. (Who knows how long that will last?) Mostly because OH and I made a decision to stay where we are for many a year to come. Have been flirting with the idea of moving for sometime now and its quite unsettling not knowing whether to stay or go, downsize in a couple of years, etc etc and it makes me tread water and not move on with investing time and money into this house. So now the decision is made to stay, pay off the mortgage quicker, and at some point extend the kitchen into a conservatory too, I am feeling a little more settled. Silly feelings I know.

Anyway time to get up so Happy Tuesday everyone,
    Kind regards
    Slowdown:)

What do we do when we fall? We get up, dust ourselves off and start walking in the right direction again. Perhaps when we fall, it is easy to forget there are people along the way who help us stand and walk with us as we get back on track.
