AF- 30/31
I am sure now that the drinking every night is a habit. I am quite happy to have an AF beer or ginger beer at night.
So hopefully if I don't buy any wine then the habit will be broken and my new habit will be the AF option. I was pregnant the last time I went 30 days without a drink - that was 19 years ago!
I now feel more in control of everything and able to cope better with the stresses of life.
Looking forward to a meal and drinks out on Friday.

Firstly Jak, I am so proud of you (in an unpatronnising way). I've only known of you for amonth but you inspire me, you are fantastic in your attitude and approach and you have quickly become a valuable member of this af community. Thank you for finding us.
With regard to your problem, couldn't you say to you Mum that you haven't any wine in as
"you can't drink due to your tablets" AND
" you can't afford it as you are repaying debts to you Mum and Dad, btw here is your first installment of ......£.......". Followed by very quickly putting the kettle on and shoving tea and biscuits at them.
Or tell them all that plus you have been thinking that its not an example you want to set to your son.
Would that help, i know its a hard one.Live for the moment and plan for the future0 -
Another AF day 21/18 and 3/4 SNC
Thank you.Live for the moment and plan for the future0 -
Thanks guys:
OK. Plan is as follows:
1. don't buy wine
2. Say no when they ask me to
3. say can't re: tablets
4. Say i'd rather not watch them drink if I have to say anything
5. Make lots of tea/eat chocolate/[STRIKE]rock in corner banging head against wall...[/STRIKE] Ignore the enevitable comments of 'youre just like your father... I knew it, you're an alcoholic
6. Also ignore... 'whatever did I do wrong'
I appreciate my Mother sounds like a nightmare. She's great at times, but REALLY NOT at others.
I really like your advice guys, it seems so simple when it's written down. Like, don't buy wine hadn't even occurred to me, I was just in major panic mode...X2022 Comp total (prizes + free spins): £494.81 #20 £12 a day Jan: £382.95/£372 #57 360 1p challenge: £17.70 £10 a day Feb: £571.09/£280 March: £311.96/£3100 -

Second date went well tonight, another AFD, so 30/31 and the 3rd SNC.0

Nearly caved in tonight after some shocking news from my ex. It seems that my eldest daughter is getting married in May, and couldn't even be bothered to tell me. She will only be a week over 21, and she is far too young (been there, done that, got 3 t-shirts!). We haven't spoken for nearly a year, after she did something that I found despicable a couple of weeks before my mum died. She hasn't bothered to invite any of my family. I phoned my sister and she knew about it but not when it was. I'm not bothered if I don't get an invite (I would only go as a guest anyway, and not the mother of the bride), but what about her little brother who she hasn't bothered with in a year.....no birthday or xmas presents or cards, or even phone calls. How do I explain that one to him, or should I even be bothered to tell him.
Anyway, tonight was the 1st time this month that I really really wanted a drink, but I didn't have one. I bashed a few loud tunes out on the piano (sorry to the neighbours) then went out for a couple of orange juices.
So 30 AFDs and 3 SNC completed.
Well done to everyone else on here who is managing to stay AF despite the stresses of everyday life.LBM Dec 10. Total unsecured debt £41176  Nov 12 Debt Free Thanks Mum x RIP x
