The Giving Up/ Cutting Down alcohol support thread - number 12

I have just been dreaming about helping a fellow alcoholic get through a night without taking a drink. I was giving them ice cold still water, and ice cold fizzy water for me. I woke up with such a thirst, and drank half a pint of cold fizzy water.

I hope everyone is being a friend to themselves tonight/this morning.

Congratulations on your new job Lilith

First alcohol free night of the week and I had such a carp nights sleep; I think its because I was drinking over the weekend. Oh well, it will get better during the week.

I would like to say thanks to everyone, I mean everyone, you have and still are helping me so much, and if it wasn't for this thread I would continue to drink, end of.
Having someone to share my ups and downs, successes and failures means the world to me, so when I tell you things are going well, you all have a percentage of that, because every success I achieve you do too.
You do not realise the difference you have made to my life, I am going to survive and have a better quality of life. I want to live not just exist and now I can see a better future for me and all of us, we mean something and we can be happy, and I wish this for everyone, please take my thanks and be proud of the contribution you have made to my progress, I am sober today forget about the 31 days or the 19 days of this month, I am sober today and yesterday is history and tomorrow is a mystery.
Today I am alive and today I am sober, that is all that matters. I love you all very much and I wish you inner peace and the courage to face the future together, all of us holding hands, bless you all so much.xxx

Nice post 41 and I know it. 19 AFDs in March and 77 days out of 78 in total fo 2013.
