Next Christmas I want 'we believe' for our front bedroom window sill. I was going to make one for this Christmas but couldn't be bothered to pull my finger out.0

Surely if you're trying to save £100-£400, £20 would go quite some way towards your goal?
I have a huge, specially commissioned one that I received as a housewarming gift. It's absolutely beautiful and sits in my office. It holds a few thousand in pounds and two pound coins and is probably about halfway full now.
I could earn a fair whack in interest but the money in it isn't savings - it's essentially just the higher denomination change at the end of the week. I don't miss it but I'd easily have spent it without thinking if I wasn't saving it. And I'd rather have it sitting in a beautiful object than in a horrible tin that you need a can opener to get into it.
Plus, once I've smashed the top off, it'll be an equally beautiful plant pot.0 -

That might have worked better if you hadn't had a typo

I agree with you OP. I cant see the point of those ornaments either, I think they are really odd. My dad and stepmum love them lol, they have the 'dream' one in the bedroom, 'soak' in the bathroom, 'eat' and 'bake' in the kitchen, 'love' in the lounge. They have a sign for the garden, pointing to it in clear view of it, what is that all about! God ony knows what they think people would mistake it for.
Even my young kids have questioned why they need these things. They have a spare room for when the boys go to stay and above each single bed is the boys names. My kids think they are barmy. The eldest asked his grandad if he thought he would forget his name over night
I am surprised they haven't got anything to put in the downstairs toilet, just in case they forget what they are doing in there. I am so tempted to go out and buy the letters '!!!!!!' for them.
Sorry, I know I am lowering the tone but couldn't resist. The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.0
