Talk talk help??

I was wondering if anyone could help me?
I joined talk talk in November on the essentials plan, £22 a month to include phone line, some calls and broadband. I have waited 3 months for my broad band.
I rang today and was told they can't provide me with broadband and that the package I'm on doesn't include broadband. Te paperwork I front of me said different. They told me they couldn't help me today as the system was down and it would take 5 says for me to get a reply. I then told them I wanted to cancel as they did no provide me with whatis igned up for.
Now I'm wondering can they charge me he cancellation charges if they didn't provide the service? I have been paying sky and talk talk while waiting for this to be sorted.

Please can anyone help me with what I should do?

So you already have the line rental and calls package. Why can they not provide the broadband? Distance from exchange?

  • They said it was due to being with sky? They use different technology! Yah I set it all up 3 months ago, phone was swooped over very quick and have just been waiting for broadband.. I'm with sky.

What is the name of your telephone exchange, or a nearby, not your, postcode.

Sky LLU to TT LLU transfer issue methinks?
TT should have been able to identify that problem as soon as they knew your phone number. Since Essentials is part of a package including broadband, I think you've every right to ask them to allow you to cancel without penalty, since it's a clear breach of contract after 3 months.
But trying to communicate that fact to TT may be a challenge..

    I concur.
But I remember from another thread that:...
The first rule of Talk Talk is problems should only be discussed on the Talk Talk website.
The second rule of Talk Talk is problems should ONLY be discussed on the Talk Talk website.;)

If it's the Rowlands Castle exchange, then that has no LLU operators, neither TT or Sky. You must be on Sky Connect. Therefore it's not an LLU to LLU issue.
You can't get the standard Essentials tariff, as TT have no LLU service at that exchange, so you would be paying (IIRC) a huge £10 broadband surcharge.
But I don't understand why TT say that they cannot provide you with a non LLU broadband service via BT?
However, TT's only advantage is their cheapness if available LLU. Otherwise neither they nor Sky are suitable for your needs. You'd do better choosing one of the better BT resellers such as Plusnet.
