Thanks verbatim! Going well so far - not spent too much today and tomorrow should be a NSD!

Got a meeting tomorrow about my new position - started training my replacement today so I can leave my PA job on Thursday :(

    Hiya S_C.

Just wanted to say well done on the new role! Good luck for that initial going from weekly pay to monthly pay 'hit' though -I know what it's like. My advice would be stock up on food whilst you can! ;)

Also - I don't know if this could be a consideration but.....are there any mobile hairdressers in your area that could do your hair at home? They tend to be cheaper for the obvious no overheads reason.

    Just a thought.

    Good luck with everything! :)

Hmmm, never thought of the mobile hairdressers idea! Our bathrooms a bit small though so not sure if they'd be able to do it? Might find out though!

I'm restless at the mo. I found a place where there isn't a DVD/Video rental shop for at least 20/30 miles - not everyone gets them delivered! I'm really tempted to set up a business but I've never done that before - plus it would be 30 miles from where I live (and work) at the mo. Argh decisions! :rotfl:

Just training my replacement at the mo and start my new job on Thursday with a manual to read tonight and training tomorrow. Getting v nervous!

On a different note boyf is making provision for and thinking about us moving in together later in the year. I know we talked about it, but it's nice that he's actually planning things rather than just leaving them to me to get excited over! :j

No updates on my car at the mo. Got the fanbelt which boyf is not getting round to doing (either too busy or too wet!) but no other news at the mo. Must get clutch kit sooner rather than later so he can do that too!

Tooth holding out :T though can't get rid of this stinking cold!

Right well, cold gone and tooth STILL holding out!

My replacement at work has quit so I'm now trying to do two full time jobs in 10 hours a day! Shattered!

Boyf has agreed that he can do the clutch so I will be phoning round motor factors for prices :) I know the kit from Ford is £117.50 but I'm sure the motor factors could bring it to under £100. Have to put my old Nokia 6680 phopne on ebay sot hat should pay for a bit! :T

Fanbelt in car ready to fit at same time as clutch. Will get boyf to also check out air-con to see if any obvious problems! Thank God for useful men!

Take care of yourself. Doing so much at work could mean you get run down and bring on more colds etc. Make sure you get your beauty sleep and 5 a day.

Hope you're being paid for doing 2 jobs!!!!

I'm working not for more money but for time off in lieu as I booked my holidays before I started here and don't have enough pro-rata! I'll have done nearly 4 hours in the last two days. I would do more but the doors only open at 8am and I get locked in after 6pm so I'm tied a bit!

I'm very tired at the mo not having slept well on Friday night and then going to my boyf's gig on Sat night, but I will be having some early nights this week!

Not enough hours in the day at the mo! :)

!!!!!! - misread the Ford part price. It's £178 but I've got one quote from a motor factor for £158. Will phone around tomorrow for more. not sure about trusting important car parts from eBay!

Why do things go really really good - then really really squiffy.

Now my replacement's left, the Director I used to PA for has asked me to stay and that the PA job is mine permenantly if I want it as he 'knows quality when he sees it and thinks I'm superb at my job'. However, I've just signed a three-month contract with another department. Now they are spatting between themselves as to who gets me! I don't know what to do!

My OH thinks I should ask for more money if they are that desperate to keep me (when I was a temp here I was looking around at jobs £2-£3k more than I'm on now) but my Head of HR thinks they won't pay me anymore. I've never asked for money in my life and hate doing it!

    Tooth still holding out! :rotfl:

God, it's all gone pear shaped.

being paid monthly now which means that I get two weeks money next week to last me until end of June. I have my OH's birthday weekend in Wales in two weeks and not enough money to pay for dinner out one night unless I use credit card.

Could have just got by on two weeks money, but miscalulated (Mum paid my rent cheque in late) my money and made a hair appointment for tomorrow which i really do need to go to so I'm already £30 overdrawn - need £50 cash for tomorrow, and then my salary will pay this off next Thursday so I'm already £100 down!

Need some cosmetic stuff but will get that from Boots with my points. *sigh*

it was all going so well.

Also darling boyf and I went looking at houses to rent the other day and then sat in the pub to work out the finances. It's going to be tight for me, but not only that but I have to find £800 before we move in September! With next month (and therefore the month after) being a little short, and then holiday in France in July (already booked but I owe darling boyf for ferry and accomm) some of which I have to take as unpaid leave it's just not going to happen.

I've got an old mobile to put on eBay but nothing else of real value. I've registered for some evening leaflet work, but heard nowt yet.

Means I have to pull my belt in VERY VERY tight and see what happens!

Aww, never mind. At least you're clear about the real situation money wise which is more than half the battle. Stay clear and focussed about how much money you have and how much more you need so you resist unplanned spends. And enjoy your bf's birthday.
