Pay a £1 and get your full credit file. Will tell you things even you had forgotten about yourself.

If there are any gremlins hiding, this will tell you. Its the same credit reference agency that the banks, Barclays included, use to get their data.

so do you have your mortgage & a credit card and thats it? anything else in the past?

You may just be the victim of a low information profile.

I have my mortgage, which is fully up to date. I have my MBNA card with a 2.5K limit, which is clear. I have a contract mobile phone and a store card again all up to date and no problems.

Both my equifax and experian files are fine! nothing at all which is negative!

Its as if Barclays arnt seeing what I am seeing when i got my files from the CRAs!

If i go into my branch and speak with a Personal Banker, will they/are they allowed to tell me anything about how my internal rating is standing?

Some years ago I went into my bank (Natwest) to apply for a loan as i was so desperate and broke and just started working after couple months been unemployed.

The man who actually went through the loan application with me told me that he knows that the application will be declined (which it did) because of my past credit but said that he was able to override it by contacting someone ot head office. Surprisingly the next day I received a phone call from the adviser saying that I have been offered the loan.

The question is, does staff have this authority anymore?
    Asda card - £220, Halifax Card- £2200
    Halifax Loan - £3300, Capital Card - £500
    Total owing = £6220

    Llyds tsb advise please

I currently have a platium account with lloyds which i pay £15 a month for (this has risen from £7 then £10 now £15) i am no longer prepared to pay this charge each month for a bank account that i dont use the extras (travel insurance, breakdown cover) BUT i do use the £250 overdraft which comes with this account. I am frightened that if i change back to a current account i wont get this ammount of overdraft - but how could they refuse me if its decided on a credit score - then surely my score would be the same as nothing has changed apart from i refuse to pay for a bank account.

Hope this makes sense - can anyone from lloyds advise on this please.

not overly probable. policy states you shouldn't, however advisors are somewhat different from branch to branch.

ring them and ask. they will be able to see (provisonal on your risk band not being dire) instantly what your overdraft provision is. Just bear in mind on a basic account your interest chargable rates will be higher.

speak to a prem or pam as they are the ones in the know.

that very much depends on their grade. nearly all lenders opperate automatic decisioning systems, but most give graded staff a tariff (also known as a license, or madate) to work with. failing that there will always be an appeals process with a underwritter at the end of the phone.

Surely the additional interest wont be as much as £15/month - which is currently being charged for the premium account?
