Whats the easiest way to obtain a bank account also a business account?
I seem to be getting turn down for any sort of account at the moment.
I do suffer from a lack of vr history and have just moved into my new address 5 months ago.
Please help:mad:
Have you been given reasons why you have been turned down?
Have you tried you existing bank?
What's a vr history?Whilst my posts do not constitute financial advice, I am always, without fail, 100% right!0 -
does vr mean voters roll?0
-
You need to get on the voters roll (see local council website) and check your credit files from experian, equifax, and callcredit. That will show you if you are being declined for anything other than a lack of history.
There are basic bank accounts on the market that you shouldnt be declined for, however, this will mean limited facilities until you have a stronger relationship with your chosen financial provider.

And in the meantime, don't make any more applications until you've seen your file as the more applications you make the more damage you could be doing to your credit score.Gwlad heb iaith, gwlad heb galon0

I work as a Customer Adviser for NatWest Bank. Yes, yes, this means I am one of the so-called CA's that are the banks main sellers. I have worked for the bank for 6 years and have got to say, things have changed for the better since then.
My job is to conduct Personal Service Reviews (I see these have already been mentioned earlier by an RBS employee). The Personal Service Reviews were introduced to provide a customer service. Now, let me tell you, it IS my job to try and sell you products but ONLY if it will benefit you.
I would look at areas to save a customer money (mortgage, debt repayments, home insurance, etc). Make sure they had adequate protection in place (life ins, home ins, pension, etc). And lastly to try and make them money (establishing an emergency savings fund, getting higher interest on their savings).
Now, let me clear a couple of points also. Firstly, it was mentioned earlier that the CA's are paid a commission! We are not paid commission!!! I only wish we were. We work on a 'run rates' basis. Now only if we achieve this week in, week out for a full 3 months will we be paid a 'bonus'. This depends on what we have acheived against our targets. Now this bonus is not just made up of sales, it is also made up of customer service.
The service bonus is made up as follows:
Customers are sent service questionnaires randomly by our head office. These are based on the actual service we offer in your local branch and NOT NatWest as a whole. Although there are a few questions on there that don't affect the branch. Only if we have good service scores, do we get a bonus. This means we have to maintain a good score or improve on the previous month.
Now I know a lot of you are against banks at the moment, but not all banks or bank staff are there to sell you something that doesn't suit your needs or won't help you in anyway. And if you feel that any member of staff is not following this procedure, then complain!
I am in debt myself but have only ever received one bank charge in my entire life and that was a genuine error I made when I was about 18. If you go into the bank when you receive your first bank charge and sit down with somebody and go through things, most bank staff will try and help you and have the ability to refund you up to £50. But most people are scared of going into a branch or come in and shout at you instead of sitting down and discussing things. We are humans and do not appreciate being shouted at, just like the majority of you all. So, if you are coming into the bank, do not come and shout your mouth because you will NOT get very far!
If anybody would like to ask me any questions, please feel free to ask.0 -

Are you registered on the voters roll at your new address? Have you had any problems in the past with debt? And do you have a regular income?0 -
Countrygirl that's a hell of a lot of debt you have - perhaps you should go on one of those personal reviews yourself!0

There are basic business accounts also. These work in the same way a basic personal account would. They wouldn't give you many facilities but this could change if the account was conducted correctly.0 -

5 loans (3 with protection)
1 mortgage application
2 credit cards
1 life cover
2 first kept appointment (appointments with financial adviser)
2750 sales points
Now only if we achieve this week in, week out for a full 3 months will we be paid a 'bonus'. This depends on what we have acheived against our targets. Average 'bonus' would probably be about £500. Now this bonus is not just made up of sales, it is also made up of customer service.

Hello,
Wondering if you can shed some light on something for me. If a client attends a Review with someone like yourself, and asks to apply for a loan for example, can the member of staff approve the application, or is it a case of "computer says yes or no"
The other question i have is this: If someone previously had a Natwest/RBS curren account but then stopped using it for some time (4 years plus) and then re-applied, would it be flagged up that the person has previously had an account??
Thanks for your input
