Bank Accounts

Hi..

basicly i have alot of debt and im in need of a bank account because my current bank have said that they will take any credits from my account to pay the debt.

but every bank i have been too has declined me because of credit score,

im at the wits end because i wont have a bank account for wages which in turn means i will lose my job

Have you tried the Co-op? They do a 'basic' current account - no overdraft or any form of credit is allowed, but it is tailor made for people who have a lot of debt.
I used to think that good grammar is important, but now I know that good wine is importanter.
  • I got mine at Barclays. If in doubt a post office account could be worth looking at. You can't have direct debits on it but will allow money to be paid into it.

Basic accounts rarely require a "credit" check as you won't be given any credit (overdraft etc). I have two accounts with Natwest, a proper Current Account (cheque book, overdraft etc) and a Step Account which I applied for online and got straight away.

At the time of applying I had 5 defaults!

Arnt you entitled to be paid in 'coin of the realm', i.e Cash??

What have you tried so far (other than the ones I listed)?

You are asking for a BASIC account arnt you?

Most basic accounts dont even do a credit check, so what exactly are you being told because someone should take you.
