    I've lost a stone and dropped a dress size :j not in any pain but feel constantly spaced out and dizzy. luckily I have complete wardrobes in sizes 10, 12 and 14 in the loft. The smaller they get the more quality/expensive as they were pre-children and I had money.

    The tent we bought the bay is fantastic, immaculate condition and a bargain at £60 ( retail £350+).

    Tomorrow our mortgage drops into the £60Ks....:D

    I was reading Goldiegirl's thread yesterday, which was a bit of a wake up call. I have no pension to speak of, about £6k in the pot which is forecast at £14 a month.....

    Assuming there will still be a state pension in 25 years, We will have the equivalent of £1040 to live on a month. Very sobering. I am going to start putting £120 a month into an isa and hopefully set up a direct debit so it doesn't get lost along the month. Eeek!

    Hello there!

    I was looking at your thread last night, but was so tired I didn't log in to comment.

    Just wanted to say, I was really sorry to hear of your illness, and when you said ' am in shock at how my life has suddenly been turned upside down. Now very aware that I'm not invincible. I've always thought of myself as being healthy like a little cart horse', I was in total agreement. I've had very little illness in my life, and now, out of the blue, there's something weird going on - it's a lot to take in really.

    I think any savings that you can make now will help for the future. They say that it's cheaper to live as a retired person, and I'm hoping that's true - for example petrol for work isn't needed and no more need for work clothes. But even so, I think we are all hoping to have a 'good' retirement rather than just exist.

    I hope all goes well for you, it must be really unsettling at the moment - I'm just going on a one day at a time basis at the moment, and trying to be as normal as possible.

    A bit of a result on the weight loss though - although a drastic way of going about it! :rotfl:

    Hi Goldiegirl,
    hope you're holding up okay, the sooner you find the cause the better, it's easier when you know what you're dealing with. I actually feel fab, surprising considering the amount of morphine they were pumping into me last week. I don't think I've ever eaten this healthily, no alchohol for 3 weeks...:) just need to get rid of the vertigo which is wearing me out.

    A good Mse day today, OH took DD out to look for a special needs trike as she's done some serious growing. got a cracking second hand one for £270 ( a considerable bargain to her first, which cost £1k new:eek:) and she requires much less support:) Hopefully we can recoup some money by selling her old one.

    I think I had a bout of vertigo last night, with sickness etc, and I've been really tired today. It was pretty horrible, so I sympathise. Hope yours goes soon - I'm hoping mine won't happen often. Up until this point I'd been feeling very good in myself.

    That's a good result on the trike - I imagine the old one will be very saleable, as there must be a big demand for specialised items.

    Keeping my fingers crossed, that you keep feeling good, and the vertigo is kept at bay!

    Still with vertigo.......although not as tired today. £75 spent on weekly shop,hopefully avoid top ups if I can.

    Starting looking through the threads today, which I haven't done for ages. Does anyone know if Quintwins still has a thread? I used to love reading her meal plans, but can't seem to find anything recent by her. Was wondering if she's under a new name now?

    Overspent on food this week, £75 in Mr M's, £19 on ilumi soups and £42 in Mr A's. The ilumi and mr A were all half price items...I now have 12 bottles of Encarda hot spicy sauce which should keep hubby going for a few months!

    Going to take him out for a meal in a lovely country pub near us tonight, to say thank you for doing such a sterling job of holding the fort whilst I was in hospital.

    Got some twinges in my diverticulosis area today, so sticking to soup, I can't face another attack. Had a few sips of red wine last night and some chocolate, I think both are going to have to go on the banned list.

    Not much to report.....sold a couple of items on our local f@cebook swaps page and made £32.

    Just planted up some runner beans, climbing beans, carrots, spring onions and butternut squash. I'm a complete novice, have put them in the greenhouse and see what happens!

    Some more hours have come up at the school I work at, so shall do my application form tomorrow. It's a full time position, which I can't do financially, however they've told me to put in for part time hours anyway.

    :DGot the job
    From September, I shall be working 20 hours a week at the local school. We'll only have an increase in income of £200pm as child tax credits will fall, however, I'm looking forward to going backing to work.
    As its local, no transport costs:T

    New contractors have been out to look at the damp issues this morning. Its been stressing me out for months, but they were shocked by the horror story we put up with. Feeling very hopeful it will be sorted relatively pain free.

    unnecessary spends of July to date;
    £17 ilumi foods
    £24 foundation & lipstick
    £8 2 x vest tops
    and £25 on something that I can't even recall......must have been essential:o

    Good things;
    A freezer full of half price fish from Mr M's, enough for 4 fish pies for £12:)
    Treated myself to new bras, gone down several sizes:)
    New Cleaning schedule means house is respectable

    Bad things;
    Daughter is up several hours each night crying and carrying on, new strategy implemented tonight, finally quiet:(
    Husband has been stupid ......again. our holiday doesn't have much of a shine to it now.
