Thanks Muser, only another (ahem) 3 stone to go to get back to pre-baby weight.:o

I LOVE camping:D relatively cheap and gets us away from home, exploring new places. Somehow the food always gets expensive, despite my best efforts at being Mse .....
  • :eek:I have failed miserably at Easter, yet again. The Mse chocolate bunnies were both eaten the first week, the bunnies OH bought to replace them have been eaten. The 4 bargain eggs from Mr Ms have been eaten:eek:

It happens every year. I then refuse to buy any, cos I know they'll get eaten. Then Easter arrives, there are none left in the shop, I end up paying a fortune for the 'posh' eggs that are left on the shelf. EVERY YEAR:wall::wall:

3 stone of baby weight to shift here too! It's still classed as baby weight after 6 years right?

Back from camping in the Scottish boarders.....blooming cold and windy but had a lovely time. Over budget by £200, but that includes emergency 3 season sleeping bags for the kids as it was -2 degrees at night:eek:

Also bought a new (cheap) bed for DD, and a very cheap Hoover. Getting stressed about money again. I seem to be permanently £1k overdrawn, so seriously need to tacke this. Also have no savings or pension. I need to do a big financial shakedown.

We have rising damp in the kitchen, which I think is due to the building works from a couple of years ago. I'm pretty sure they built the patio over the damp-proof course and am dreading the whole process/ finances to get it sorted. Sticking head in the sand but the damp is now dangerously close to the electric sockets, so I need to
get people in next week. Aaargh.

Trying to get both DS and DD toilet trained at night. Been trying with DS since he was 3 with no success and LOTS of washing, so seeing specialist in couple of weeks. Never tried with DD. Although she is 8 she has cp and lots of sleep related issues and I couldn't face it. However, she wanted to go into knickers too, so I humoured her.....early days but she's dry:T:D (bad mother).

I can get back into my jeans, woo hoo:T first time in several years, very pleased.

DD doing well with her dry nights, waiting for an alarm for DS.

Got myself a little lunchtime job at the local school. Hopefully it won't impact on benefits, but give £100 extra to put towards overdraft. (Still standing at £1k).

Got a nice full weekend planned to keep the kids busy. The present cupboard has been re-stocked in a Mse manner thanks to Mr M who is doing 2 games for £8.

Started doing jars for money again to focus the mind......need to be very good with groceries this week.

Ooooops, had a serious splurge on the house, LOTS of money spent, all Mse offers, but still not budgeted for.......this is the longest we've ever lived in a house (8 years). Usually do 3 or 4 years then move, cull and renew stuff. All our things are looking a little jaded so need sprucing up a little.

£96 ikea, planters, photo frames, clothes rail, towel rail
£37 new duvet sets for 3 x beds
    £24 4 x new duvets on offer
    £63 paint
    £60 wedding outfit from ebay
    £20 wedding outfit from ebay
    £20 Xmas present for DD
    £65 tent from ebay

I need to get a grip again and redo my budget, food has gone out of the window again. Mil coming to stay at weekend, and then school holidays are here again - seems like the kids have only just gone back. I'm trying to resist organising a camping trip. I'm failing miserably at being in control, the days are flying far too quickly!!

I've just come out from a week in hospital and am in shock at how my life has suddenly been turned upside down. Now very aware that I'm not invincible. I've always thought of myself as being healthy like a little cart horse.

Over the past few years I've had painful stomach spasm attacks which have laid me up for a couple of days. I've been trying to work out which food I'm allergic too. I got taken in by ambulance, turns out I have diverticular disease. this episode was pretty bad, I need to go back in 4 weeks to see if I need surgery and some bowel removed.

At the mo I'm very very scared as I can't afford another attack. I need to be around long term to look after my disabled daughter. I suddenly feel as though I'm 50 not 40.

Hubby has been amazing looking after the kids. I'm wondering whether he should be the stay at home parent and I go to work....he would very much like that. I have no idea what I can and can't eat, it seems a little understood disease.

Sorry to hear your news. I hope it settles down and hopefully now it's been diagnosed you may get some help re diet etc.

PS - this wasn't linked to the mil visit was it? Just asking ;)

:rotfl: No Gallygirl, MIL visit went very well. The first time we've seen her by herself and she was a very easy houseguest.

Good news, I'm going home today:T AND I've lost 10lbs whoop whoop. Okay, not the best way to do it, but every cloud.......
