Painted the 2nd bedroom -I am now getting a tad sick of 'Natural Calico', however, free paint left over from the build.

:(I've given myself a big kick up the bottom.......spending far too much and not sticking to any budgets- I'm not getting any headway on my overdraft.
Food is the biggest culprit £90/£60 again this week. Must stop doing top ups.
Petrol has been bad this week £32/£15 oh is infuriating me, he's using car for work but bringing it home empty, light on with only a few miles in the reserve tank. I'm having to put petrol in for little runs to brownies etc:mad:
£35 on clothes, fleecy Jim jams for kids and me, ski mittens for kids and new swimming costume for me ( thought I'd lost weight cos swimsuit was getting baggy.....turns out the elastic had gone:D)
And £100 on leather sofa.........
Oh, and £20 at Mr Ms last night, although this is coming out of next weeks food bills.
So, got to find £220 for sofa and chairs......no budget for it:( going to use my last 2 months of pension money, another £50 birthday money and the rest will be added onto the overdraft.
Must do better........0 -
:wave:Hi Gallygirl
I was brainwashed by the whole neutral walls gospel on property ladder 10 years ago, have never been able to use colour on my walls since. Although I have stretched to Hessian in a couple of rooms (that'll be be beige to you:D)0 -

I'm pretty much the same tbh. I do have the following colours on my walls:
Blue
Teal
Yellow
Green
and Magnolia obviously :rotfl:
but they're all basically 'Hint of' so not too far off beige. I love seeing bold colours in other people's houses but I just don't like them in my own. And in Spain it's white all the way

Oh my:eek: that is a veritable rainbow of colours......I'm getting a bit twitchy at the thought- now Spain I COULD do
£60/£60 at lid! This morning, no tops this week
£15/£15 petrol, no tops this week
Chairs have been collected and I'm pleased with them, always a bit hit and miss from the bay.0 -
The leather chairs and sofa are lovely, although I'm holding my breath on the sofa......we bought a 3 piece from B & stoneh@use a couple of years ago, looked gorgeous but were bonded leather and started splitting /peeling after a few months. This one looks like a similar finish, so wondering if it will start to do the same.
£5 voucher off lid! brings my food shopping to £63/60 for next week. Will be okay if no top ups.
I've got to £39.95 with my one poll surveys, not getting any surveys now, which seems to be quite common....I was hoping to get the payout before Christmas but doesn't look likely.
A little despondent /confused about the whole overpaying malarkey......things are not good with OH. We're are both wondering if the frugality is worth it if the marriage goes under - apart from the lovely holidays we've had ( which keeps me going) we don't really have much of a life at the moment. I'm also looking at finances should we split....it's a lose lose situation for both of us.......0 -
It's beginning to feel a lot like Christmas.......pantos, nativity's and school christmas fayre already done, can't hold it off any more;)
I was extremely organised last year, put ALL of our christmas DVDs into a wallet book and put away in a safe place.........which I now can't find:eek:0 -
Well, Christmas was lovely, the children coped much better with all the excesses. I am however, at breaking point. DD has woken at 3am for the past 3 weeks-I'm exhausted and have run out of ideas. It's totally depressed me as I wonder how long we will be able to look after as she has such complex needs. I've been in tears a couple of times, wondering whether we need to look at putting her in care in the not too distant future.
However, oh is back on track and we're parenting well together - I'm probable crashing because I know he can hold the fort, we seem to take it in turns! I need to make real progress on my weight loss, as it's not helping my exhaustion, so have started looking at paleo recipes.....it seems to make sense.
Had a wonderful break at splash land and a great walk in Derbyshire. Have bought the kids teachers/carers presents for next christmas in the sales.
The mortgage is down to £74k......it's gone down from 8.8years to 6.10 years:T:T0 -
The paleo 'diet' is going well, 9 lbs lost in 2 weeks, albeit mainly water.....needs a bit of organising, but feel good.
Not slept properly for 2 months now, DD's nights have got progressively worse, now wondering if she is in pain, she's non-verbal so very difficult to tell. Calpoled her up last night and she slept through....whilst I woke up waiting for her to wake up:)
It's been an expensive month, both washing machine and tumble dryer packed up  I hadn't budgeted for appliances, so that needs to be built in.
Now volunteering several times a week, forcing me to make an effort with my appearance, also looking after friends children and joined PTA, busy busy:)0 -
Fell off the paleo wagon after 2 weeks, but climbed back on yesterday.....10.5 lbs lost in january:j:j
Craving a hot sunny beach holiday but I can't believe the prices:eek: looks like we're camping again this year:)
DD is still not sleeping, but it looks like we could be getting some support to help care for her, fingers crossed.
DS birthday in three weeks, a joint class party with two other boys, which is keeping the cost down, should be around £80 which I'm pleased with.
Not much else to report, been looking at mortgage rates for October, getting impatient to fix on new lower rate before the base rate rises but can't do anything until June.0
