New Year, new baby, new challenges!

Had a fairly productive day today, managed to clear out a filing cabinet and get 5 bags of shredded paper out for recycling. They were late so that helped!
I've also listed a few bits on ebay and got a couple of other jobs done, so I'm pleased with that. It's the most I've achieved since baby was born."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Well done sounds as though you had a busy day.0

Thanks penny
I've not been too productive today sadly. I think the trick is to stay away from the computer!
I have caught up with surveys though so that helps and have redeemed a £5 amazon voucher.
I've pulled out a few more bits for ebay so will try and get some on tomorrow.
Sorted through the baby clothes and will pack away the newborn stuff. I'm also shockingly bad at remembering the changing bag when I go out, so I've packed an 'emergency kit' for each of the cars which has a few nappies, wipes, a change of outfit, bib and muslin.
I forgot the bag on Sunday when we went booting and had to find someone selling clean looking baby clothes as baby jwil projectile vomited all over me!
I've made a start in using reusable nappies, the one I tried yesterday failed miserably, but the one I used today has worked a treat. I think the one yesterday has just not been washed enough and so is not absorbent enough yet. I've got lots of different ones, so will work my way through them and see which ones suit me and him best. Unfortunately the nursery I will be using don't accept reusables, so I will have to continue with disposables as well, but I can at least reduce the bill somewhat (and the rubbish!)."Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Hey dfw321  nice to 'see' you again! That's obviously a great birthday date to have
I'm loving being a mummy. It's funny, neither of us were convinced we wanted children, I didn't feel at all maternal during the pregnancy, and even whilst in labour was wondering if I'd ever feel maternal ( as well as thinking '****, this hurts'). But the second they put him on me, it all changed thankfully. I'm a smitten kitten and DH is the same.
How's everything with you?"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -
I managed to get a few more bits listed on ebay yesterday and today so fingers crossed I get some sales.
I've also got some bits going out tonight with three sales (all relists) so that will clear a few more bits and get some cash. It would be nice if a couple more bits sold too, but I'm not expecting them to.
Weather's looking ok this weekend, so we are hoping to sell at a boot sale tomorrow, but probably just look around on Sunday. We shall see - the Sunday one is good for clearing books, and I've built up loads of them.
I actually managed to lie in bed and read for an hour this morning, baby jwil was quite happy to have a snooze, so I took advantage - it was lovely
Have a good weekend everyone"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do". Eoin McGee0 -

oh it's a fab birthday to havewe share it with peter andre & elizabeth taylor i believe lol (does this make us drama queens
???) :rotfl:
I felt the same all the way through my pregnancy with my eldest. I was quite young and just kept thinking i'd made a mistake! Felt exactly the same as you though afterwards and 2 more children later...............:rotfl:
All is well with me! I went a little awol as I suspect quite a few of us do on these long DF journeys. Once the initial LBM is over life kind of gets boring again ....i'm back though and raring to go again  will keep up with you hopefully ....have you got the hang of the reusable nappies yet? I am ashamed to say I could never get the hang of them and ended up going back to disposables. I think I was too tired to concentrate on putting them together right lol. 2 babies in 12 months will do that to you I guess :rotfl::rotfl: (no forgetting the contraception if you wish to avoid the route i took :rotfl:)

Haven't forgotten you all just so much stuff going on with OH and his health. The retirement we thought we were going to have doesn't look so good now.
I've been trying to supplement OH's meagre sick pay with Ebay sales. Some good some not to so good but the postage is a b*gg*r
May have missed the post but do we have a name for JWIL Jnr.j0 -

Glad everything is ok with you. I'm having a revived enthusiasm too, the thought of those few extra months off is very appealing
I haven't used too many reusables yet, we still have quite a few newborn disposables left and I want to use them up before he grows out of them. Once that happens, I shall make a greater effort. From those that I have used, one was a great success and I loved it, the other two were not so successful, but not sure if that was user errorI've got a few more different ones to try so once I do that I shall get more of the ones I like best.
I'm back on contraception now, would like not to have 2 babies in 12 months , though little man is here due to a contraception failure so there's no guarantee!"Good financial planning is about not spending money on things that add no value to your life in order to have more money for the things that do".
