Ocado called to say stuck in snow yesterday so we were expecting driver to be late or not turn up but no to our amazement he turned up on time:T

Abel & Cole missing in action tho
  • Some delivery drivers go beyond the call of duty. Not a food shop but my Yodel man just carried a really heavy microwave all the way down the hill to me, leaving his van on the main road at the top as roads not accessable.
How great was that of him. Big cheery smile and face stinging with the cold! Bless. :)

My SIL is still awaiting her Tesco delivery and hoping it'll turn up.

Have just gone onto the Tesco website and there is a box to check if there is a delay in getting shopping delivered.I put my postcode in as instructed and , amazingly , it says deliveries are as normal.
Am going to email them and ask why my scheduled delivery was cancelled.

your simpermarket cancelled your delivery and you want compensation? OH PUH-LEASE!
didn't you look out of the window or look at the weather forecast before placing your order?
did you expect by some miracle that they employed father xmas and his reindeer to deliver your groceries?
Sorry, but what planet are you on?

No, the OP wants a father of 3 to put his life in danger driving on icy roads, so they can have chocolate biscuits with their tea.

Some people make me laugh, just because their road is Ok they assume the whole of the country is OK.

They forget the goods have to GET TO THE WAREHOUSE/STORE first, before the driver can even get their order out to them.

    Talk about selfish.

We thanked the Ocado driver profusely yesterday as we were so grateful to get the food delivered (were down to last litre of milk and last loo roll). We live in a town now, close to station and OH commutes to London so we don't bother having a car which would just sit there 5 days out of 7. It does make life more difficult in this weather not to have a Land Rover anymore.

I emailed Ocado this morning and asked them to please thank the driver for his efforts as well. Within an hour I got an email back from a customer services agent at Ocado thanking me and telling me that his managers had been informed and would be thanking him.

Abel & Cole still missing in action and no news from them. I checked website and my card has been charged though. Called them, they called driver and he's a couple of hours away yet but at least he'll get here so phew I'll get breakfast.

I do appreciate all that goes off to make delivering shopping happen.I dont think that there is a warehouse at the end of my road that is just filled up with my food shopping and delivered to me.I am a father of 2 young kids and we do the shopping more often than we have it delivered. This was our end of the month budget shop before pay day , which i did online to manage the cost.
As I stated in my previous posts , Tesco didnt make any mention of problems with deliveries when I placed the order on Saturday 19th.If there was a warning that they may have to cancel deliveries I would not have ordered online but gone to my local Tesco/Sainsburys.
In fact the website says currently there might be a slight delay and to put your postcode in to see if your area is affected. My area came up as deliveries as normal.
I am the most polite bloke you will ever come across and am certalinly not SELFISH and do not eat chocolate biscuits.

There was actually a box on the main home page for Tesco groceries saying that due to the weather they may be delayed or have to cancel deliveries if they cannot get to you.
Luckily, mine came this morning ok, he was 15 mins late but not grumbling as he did well to get here. He had to cancel 2 deliveries as he couldn't get there due to roads being impassable (joys of living in rural wales).
I have had no post for 2 days, does that mean I can claim compensation from the post office.... nah didn't think so..

Britain has the most unpredictable weather of most countries, you really expect tesco to know is it is going to be bad on a particular day, when the weather forecasters don't know themselves
