Tesco cancelled delivery

Options
Have just had a text from Mr T saying that my delivery due tonight 8-10pm has been cancelled due to the weather and to re-place the order when the weather improves in my area.
For all I know it could be springtime before "the weather improves in my area"

Is there any good will gesture for cancelling delivery ?

Call & complian, maybe they'll GOGW you a free delivery slot for next time.
But to be honest, it's not that big a deal.

Tesco and all the main stores here cancelled deliveries the last two bad winters. Leaving a good number of elderly/infirm people, including several of my neighbours in the lurch for a good couple of weeks each time.

To compare, one much smaller local supermarket made a big effort to ensure its less able customers got their messages and picked-up a lot of new customers because of it.

Could you not have helped your elderly and infirm neighbours?

Not Tesco but Asda delivered my shopping about a hour ago. We live in the back of beyond so I was very pleased as been half expecting it to be cancelled. Only the cat food missing so nipped to the corner shop for those.

I think looking for compensation is a bit cheeky, placing an order in this weather is hit and miss, so if it does arrive it's a bonus.

your simpermarket cancelled your delivery and you want compensation? OH PUH-LEASE!
didn't you look out of the window or look at the weather forecast before placing your order?
did you expect by some miracle that they employed father xmas and his reindeer to deliver your groceries?
Sorry, but what planet are you on?

Must have looked out of the window I think.Live on a main road , buses running as normal , driving my car slower than usual without any problems.Spent an hour on the Tesco website placing order and there werent any flags about not delivering during this terrible , terrible weather. When I clicked commit to place order there still wasnt any weather warnings affecting deliveries.
However , the weather hasnt affected your delivery of heavy sarcasm , puuuurrrlllllllllease.

Mr T cancelled my delivery last week because of the snow in Norfolk. I had a phone call from customer services to say they were unable to deliver but I could collect it from the store instead. I agreed to this as hubby was coming home from work that way anyway. A few mins later I received another call to say that when customer services had phoned the store to let them know several orders were to be collected they were told it wasn't an option to do that! Tesco put £10 on my account because of the inconvenience - I didn't ask for it.

I place my shopping deliveries a week in advance so I don't think it's fair for others to make comments about what do people expect with the weather being how it is. The weather was absolutely fine when I placed my order over a week ago and it may be the same for others.

Hoping they don't cancel mine tomorrow. Our estate is lethal as not gritted as of yet and not many cars accessing but Ocado man in just plodding along doing all his deliveries in the thick of it. Good ol' Ocado, unfortunately its Tesco for me this week so I expect a cancellation of my order tomorrow too. They usually do!

Sainsbury's cancelled our delivery on Friday, rescheduled it for Saturday and then cancelled that one too, but delivered it on Sunday despite it snowing most of the day. Totally fair enough, given the weather, but I think it's reasonable to expect them to at least waive any delivery charge (which they did in our case), and if it's really been an inconvenience then some vouchers wouldn't go amiss.

However, I think I would be a bit annoyed about having to re-place the order. I'd expect them to keep the detailsand reschedule the delivery for the following day like Sainsburies did.

I agree that maybe they should have offered to deliver it another day.It is a pain having to re-order it again as I had to order it through my phone (as the laptop was playing up.).
its a fair point saying that maybe they could waive delivery the charge for your next order/re-placed order.
I thought that they could have sent a more pro-active message than " re-place your order when the weather improves in my area"
The weather has improved already since this morning in my area so is it my responsibility to second guess if its ok for Mr T to deliver ? :j

    thanks
