Morning all
Not feeling great today so not in the mood for kids being at home. They will not be spending the day watching tv.
Off for a shower to see how I feel after that. The birds of sadness may fly overhead but don't let them nest in your hair0 -
Hope you feel better soon Dusty x
Both my sons' schools are closed.
Ds1 has a Gcse today so has very crossly gone in for revision /exam. I was having trouble getting him to go until his teacher rang me.
OH had to walk to the tram station and took 1&1/2 hours to get to work.
Going to strip our bed then start on kitchen in combination with playing with DS2
Miss Muddy Paws is in bed. Must change her outside water dish.
Bonnie Hope you are feeling a bit better today. x
Bossymoo I love hearing about your tots. x0 -
Morning!
Lordy we have piles of the white stuff here! Took littlies to nursery on the sledge as DD couldn't walk in it, and it would have gone over the top of her wellies. Nursery have since called to say they plan to stay open unless it gets much worse (still snowing here) but to set off in plenty of time to collect later.
I'm working from home (all week hurrah) so it's just a 5 min walk for me to get them.
Spoke to boss man this morning, he said just make good decisions, and given the pic of our snow I sent him (he's the other side of the Pennines) and the fact I'm relying on nursery, he'd be happy for me to not even attempt to get in my car :T. So I'm holed up in the DR with some hot soup, the halogen heater under the table, surrounded by phones and computing equipment.
I will fly on lunchbreak, but possibly not DR. I will class it as my "office" which will probably come up later in the week
Now need to call mum as she works local to me, so will tell her how bad it is... she may want to stay over again, or not even bother going...
ETA: miniskint must have arrived by now? Didn't skinty say she's going in first this morning?Bossymoo

Hope the shower improves things.
Much to my surprise, after an adamant "the college will be open on Monday" on last night's web site, by 7am this morning they had changed their minds and we're closed. Not that I'm complaining particularly; gives me a chance to get a real start on this week's flying.
I've walked through the village to post the charity knitting stuff I finished; certainly easier to walk on the road than the pavement although the temperature can't have been too low as there's no real ice as such. Noticed that the village school is closed which was also surprising. While I wouldn't like people to put themselves and others at risk by driving, I do think everyone's a bit pathetic these days. Did anyone watch Winterwatch 1963 at the weekend? Several feet of snow and people were still driving or walking to work or school, and the trains were running! My mum's got a photo of me standing by the sledge she used to drag me to school on.
Cleared front path as our postman and milkman (yes a real milkman!) are nice people and I wouldn't want them hurt. Actually the snow was pretty soft; it's so still here which is probably why the temperature's stayed up. Trying to snow again although my barometer is pointing to sleet.
Sorry this is more like a diary! Coffee then leaping into action at about......11.15 anyone?
PS to bird lovers, my mum (Bournemouth area) had a goldcrest in her garden yesterday, very rare.Remember...a layer of dust protects the wood beneath it.0 -
I'm partially in because christmas has filled my house to the rafter and I can't move and it is driving to distraction.. but I have chronic exhaustion thanks to a certain nocturnal naughtiness who may or may not be teething/unwell/just playing up and is now hugging the stair.. something very wrong with this child lol
I am starting by bossing OH to drag the pan cupboard out and restack all that .. their is a steamer in there I am donating to the charity that is DS1.. I still have mountains of his christmas stuff here too which has to go this week because the mess is actually depressing me.
KH is wanting a meeting to discuss contact and money as he has a new job down south and he wants me to stop the CSA chewing his head.. phnarr!! I don't want to go meet with him, anything that needs to be said can and will be said over the phone I think..
Opticians just cancelled on us so I have 2 in on Thursday instead of one Thursday and 1 Tuesday... with 2 appts in between
Dot is STILL not walking.. she can, but won't.. lazy little beastlet! As she walks into the room to make me out a liar!
WM's both on
TD on
Recycling out
Rubbish out and an extra binbag dance done.
Babies fed and dressed and the others all at school. DS3 'forgot' his blood kit so DD3 took that for him. She must have caught him because he hasn't been back.
DD4's residential paid in full.. before I forgot. It isn't until easterish I think but it is out of the way now.
I have a few appointments to make/chase and I am considering ringing to see if the loan company will reduce my monthly payments as I have made lots of overpayments in the last year and will at this rate finish paying it 18 months early.. if they reduce the monthly payments I will pay the same as I do now, my overpayments will be larger and if I am very skint one month it won't matter if I pay less/nothing.
I aim to get a crate of fabric out of the cupboard, measured and posted for sale this week too.. job for OH I think as I am not able to lift the stuff out of the cupboard.LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -

NDN has come home; presumably he is on standby from home (works for an energy supplier) and the *nice* man across the road was also seen trudging home; presumably his depot has shut. He has to trudge home because he prefers to leave his large, 4WD works vehicle parked outside my house:rotfl:24/7 in the hope it annoys me:rotfl:. All I can say is I hope he enjoys his regular walks;) . So NOT just teachers/schools then;)
