  • My progress this week:-

    Paid £70.00 off La Redoute.

Talked to the man standing next to me when I was in a queue today, good for my confidence.

I have cut down on the amount of chocolate i eat and even had two chocolate free days. Need to eat my five a day fruit and veg. Also need to drink more water.

I have started to walk more, must find my pedometer and walk at least 10,000 steps per day.

Just finish an essay, need to catch up with the study on the next block, aiming fot three chapters by next Saturday.
  • Just a quick note to wish you all well for the next few days ahead...keep up the good work.

Does anyone feel slightly better already for taking a few small steps? I certainly do and I am loving it!

Haven't updated progress on here for a few days

    1. Reduce my debt to my mother to £3500 and pay off my car loan.
Haven't paid anymore off, but haven't spent any money either, so that's good.
Made £40 today taking photos for a friends christening, which I know I should probably put away to use to pay off the debt, but ....

    2. Make good progress on getting the dining room finished.
Plasterers are round on wednesday to quote.

    3. Finish off the garden.
Done some more on this over the last couple of days. Have also tackled the front "garden" as well.

    4. Get more fit and healthy.
Still managing to eat pretty healthy. Weighed myself this morning and have lost a bit of weight. Have also got a book out of the library about overcoming overeating, which is something I definately need to do.
Need to start doing some exercise though.
Need to drink more water as well. I think I will add a glass of water with every meal, that will be a start.

    5. Pass my exam at the end of July.
    Studying is going well.

OK, so I will admit that I totally and utterly failed to achieve my one goal for the first week of this challenge.

'Find time to eat and drink something whilst I am at work'

    FAILED!! FAILED!! FAILED!!

One day I took an orange and a banana but only ate the banana. On another day I did make a drink but it went cold so I didn't have it. I leave for work at 7.45 and get home at 6.10 and have nothing to eat or drink in between. I just don't find the time. I know it's not good for me and that I must try to do better as this ha been going on for three years now.

I'm forgetting my other targets until I sort this out!

    Good Luck to everyone else

101 days still to go for me
Doing voluntary work overseas for as long as it takes .......
My DD might make the odd post for me

    Days 5 & 6 progress :

    2) eat a salad meal at least once every 2 days.
Yesterday instead of having one big salad as one of my main meals I had 2 slightly smaller salad accompaniments to lunch & dinner, it was difficult to have just a salad on it's one as we had guests but the rest of the meals were healthy, so I feel OK with myself about this. I will get back to having just a salad meal in future though.

    3) Have at least 1 chocolate free day every week.
2 last week, I'm trying for one today but this is the really difficult one for me. Fingers crossed that my will power holds out!

    4) List at least one item a week on ebay or amazon or do a car boot sale.
Last weeks ebay item is not due to end for another couple of days but it has 16 watchers although no bids at the mo. Made £63 profit at the car boot yesterday & have sold 3 books on Amazon for a profit of £14:j I am liking this particuar challange!

    5) Cleanse my face everynight.
    Still on track with this.

    6) Be stricter with myself about sticking to the grocery budget.
Erm.....:o Think I have well & truly failed this one as I had to go out & buy extra for guests yesterday...:o:mad: I WILL get back on track though.

    7) Use that flipping Davina MaCall workout DVD at least once a week!
    Planned for tomorrow morning...again_pale_

Hope everyone else is enjoying their own challanges;)

OK, OK, so it didn't go as planned. I think one thing not to do is say the whole thing is a failure and you have to start again. You've recognised that there is a problem and you first attempt at resolving it has not worked. You've not failed you just have not suceeded yet.

Why don't you have time to eat and drink at work? What do you do? By law you should be having a break. Rather than waiting to find time can you try planning a slot in your diary and booking it in like a business appointment, maybe setting an alarm on your PC or mobile to remember, and then taking time out for 15-30 minutes to go and eat your snack and drink your drink. Can you keep a bottle of water handy so you can start taking the odd gulp without worry about it going cold.

One thing I noticed is at the beginning of the week I had to force myself to drink water but now I am finding my natural thirst is coming back and I am starting to want more water. Its almost as if my body knew it was not going to get so stopped asking.

Thank for this challenge. Can I going to join please? I think the timescale of it is perfect - long enough to achieve a goal and short enough to see an end.

    I want to:

    1) Loose a stone in the time.
    2) Walk every day for at least 30 minutes (I have been working towards this and doing well - I have even begun some hill walking).
    3) I would like to get back to work. I have been off since the end of January when I was assaulted by a pupil. I have neck and shoulder injuries.
    4) Refit my bathroom, get the boiler serviced an replace internal doors in the house.

    I think that's enough!

I am going to put a green dot on the calender green everyday I do 1 and 2 and give myself two green dots for doing any of the others.
