Why not just pay for an early scan and put your mind at rest?"Growth for growth's sake is the ideology of the cancer cell" - Edward Abbey.0

Contact TAMBA. They'll know.
You may already be a member if you've had multiples before.
If Mrs is looking big it could be because she has had twins before and muscles etc already stretched.0 -
what are your main concerns about the multiples? and what do you suspect the insurance policy to do? surely it wouldnt do much
plus i doubt they would take on a policy if you suspect multiple
most companies wont take things on if there is a risk
Are there any insurance policies that pay out an extra pair of hands and three more hours in the day?0 -
Sisa.co.uk don't do it anymore
Tamba refer to Marcus Hearn who dont do it anymore
We wanted one more child and wont do reduction for religious reasons (not to mention ethical and moral reasons not to be discussed here)
We were hoping to pay an albeit large premium for insurance to pay for help if it is multiples as after living few the first few months with twins I can testify that sleep is something one needs to learn to manage without and we cannot afford a couple of grand a month for a night nurse.
How could I check the odds in a bookie (I have never been in one)
She has a scan scheduled for wednesday so need to do something by then0 -
i think that if you do the deed and get pregnant you deal the hand you are given
why should there be multiples insurance?
out of interest how much would you expect to pay out? plus if you say you dont mind paying out a lot the now then why not just put that money aside for when baby or babies come??:A VK :A0 -

That's the funniest thing I've read. my twins were a doddle compared to my daughter, they were in a 4 hour routine by the time they came home from SCBU and slept through the night from 9 months, she on the other hand didn't sleep through until she was 2 1/2, now that was serious sleep deprivationAccept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0 -

We only wanted one more. We got twins. I had to look up sleep in a dictionary to see what you meant in your last post.
If you try to get pregnant, it is a risk you take. Odds are pretty uniform unless there is a history of fraternals in your family. It varies with age but is around 1 in 64 pregnancies. Identical twins are 1 in 285 pregnancies or thereabouts (invariant across age, race, etc).
The big problem for anyone is that you could know. Nobody will insure anyone where there is a decent chance that you know the outcome. It would likely be a condition of any insurance taken out now that you had a scan and you would be declined if that scan showed multiples. The time to look for insurance was before you got jiggy, not now.0 -

Surely no insurance company would ask for a scan to confirm a singleton pregnancy before issuing insurance against multiples? (and surely nobody would pay the premium for such a policy?)
I imagine the emphasis would be more on issuing the policy before any scan was undertaken!0 -
Until the first of jan zurich insurance were offering a policy for pregnant women up to 14 weeks who have not had a scan and their doctor is willing to sign that they have not had a scan. I am asking if anyone knows of a company that offers a similar policy seeing as they do not do it anymore.
sisa and marcus hearn were acting as agents for zurich
tamba do not know of anyone.
Could anyone who knows useful info please provide it0
