Crispianne3 I raised an IT incident to check why another customer's DD forecast was not being produced and I may have a fix for the issue. Can you please send me an e-mail with your account number to onlinecomplaints@scottishpower.com referencing this thread and I'll see if I can fix it for you?

Many thanks David

• David, the Scottish Power rep., emailed me last week telling me that there are several SP people working on this and other forums at any one time.

This probably means that most of the other writers here are from Scottish Power and the things they say will only seem to be trying to be helpful when in fact they are aimed at covering up something or manipulating you into acceptance of how they want things to be. There are probably some genuinely honest people here too.

There is another forum here called 'Scottish Power overcharged me £1300 and are.....' (cannot remember the exact name) which covers some of this.

I cant believe what I am reading on here, just typical.

I changed my supplier last Nov to a fixed till 2014, they quoted me £131 per month based on the amount I had used. I was even happier that they were cheaper than my current supplier, let alone the fixed till 2014, so I went ahead.

Then I get a note telling me it is going to be £163.76, I telephoned, they rang back and left a message saying they had reviewed it and it would change. I looked at the online account again and it now states £147.60, still not what was promised.

This is what is on the account:
Breakdown:
Usage charges £1695.47 (12 months quoted from previous supplier)
Discounts - 31.00
Balance on your
account at reassessment £ 217.62 (balance outstanding from usage and payments with SP for 1st quarter)
Total Charges £1965.31

NB btw the note in brackets is not printed on the account it is what I deduced.

To me (unless I have gone mad) that states that they are calculating it on 15 months surely?

I know there is a balance at the end of the quarter, but lets face it, this is the heavy period and during the summer it will balance out, I feel so cheated

You know I can do without all this hassle in my life, I might just LEAVE Scottish Power and go to another supplier that will welcome me without the headaches

• Jewlee. How do you know you won't just get another version of the same dishonest rubbish service from another supplier if you move? Don't we all need something a bit better than that?

Perhaps a class action would be more to the point.

What's a class action? You mean a dance number a la Fame/High School Musical?!?!??! That'll show them!

• Nada66 thanks.

A class action is a legal action in which a great many people who are all having roughly the same problem make a joint application to the courts for resolution and hopefully a court order requiring that something is done. This has the advantage that the lawyers' bills (which are bound to be huge!) are spread amongst all the applicants, whilst the outcome is the same for all.

I suggested much earlier in this thread a court application for an injunction requiring various things (like honest accounting!) when I copied a letter I had sent to Scottish Power customer services on this thread - but a class action would be a large group of people and so they would all have to agree the exact wording between them. Mine would only be useful as an alterable template.

I must say that I am beginning to feel a little vulnerable over this matter as some people at Scottish Power know who I am and where I live after I was persuaded to reveal my identity to them. I will warn my family.
• I discovered today that even if there is nothing whatever on a power circuit it goes on charging.

I removed all my economy 7 equipment a year or two ago and switched off the economy 7 fuesboard. Recent readings have been:

7 January 65142 (and decimal point)

7 February 65221 (and decimal point)

Today 65256 (and decimal point).

So just by having a meter there they are giving themselves money. If you actually use electricity they will take more.

I will probably try completely disconnecting their wiring from my fuseboard and see what happens.

You misunderstand. ALL your consumption off peak is charged on this rate - not simply your E7 circuit. This means your minimal draw of lights, freezer etc will correctly be incrementing the OP register on your meter.
