    David,

Just forget it now. I have given you so many chances to sort this out.

Its just like being on a merry go round.

If your objective is just to wear me down then you have achieved your objective. Well done!

Personally I have no problem with Scottish Power at all.

I am on the Online Fixed Price Energy April 2014 and pay by monthly direct debit.

On the 1st of every month I read the meters and input them onto the site. A bill is then generated and I know exactly how much I owe for that month and there are no nasty surprises.

My direct debit was £90 a month but I built up quite a bit of credit (about £200). They changed it to £66 a month and over winter I obviously spent more and am now £80 in credit which I'm happy with. I'm quite happy that they take an average of the last 12 months to set the DD, it makes sense to me.

The way I see it is that I budget for £90 and anything under that is a bonus.

I'm satisfied with them, and have never had an issue.
  • They've just increased my debit from £103 to £143 per month!
I'm on an on line tariff and put readings in very regularly but I wonder why I bother being on monthly dd as they always hike it up in winter then drop it in summer. I thought the idea was to even it out so you build up credit in summer and go into debit in winter but they obviously don't think so. I'm never in debit, and if I get near it they raise the debit so they've always got my money in advance.
Disgusting but it's the cheapest tarrif.

Other than the issue of not able to view my dd forecast online I have no problems with SP. They are a great company and thats one of the reason going back to them.

Also I read my meters every month and the DD was set at £82.00 but SP have steadily decreased it to £60.00 a month and I am still £140 in credit.

I would be reluctant to leave them because they offer good customer service but unfortunately the complaints dept have let me down on this occasion.

Crispianne I am sorry and I do want to help but I don't see your e-mail from last week in our mailbox and without it I can't help. The offer is still open if you want it.

    Thanks David

  • Not sure I will be staying with these if they are going to put my DD up and down each quarter, my idea of paying by DD is spreading the cost over the year at an even amount each month.

    CAC÷12=DD

Ask SP (1) for a Payment Plan, ask SP for (2) your Calculated Annual Consumption ÷ by 12 and pay that each month as a direct debit. Put you meter readings in each month yourself.

  • Thanks for that advise but I was under the impression that my payments would be an even amount over the year, I take it not.
