took ours into a local unlocking shop as never managed to catch stall at market yet,they said up to 1 month for unlocking by cable, as they havent released software or whatever they use yet,wondered if anyone as had one done on markets or somewhere else!

yes, they can be unlocked. if you cannot find anyone contact me but not for free i'm afraid. also be aware unlocking this phone will invalidate your warranty, which is also the case for L6,L7,V360V,V3i,V3r,pebl,rokr and other new motorola's as they have to be opened to unlock them.

There is no free method to unlock those phones as they need to be opened to be unlocked.

There is no free method to unlock those phones. And the solution to unlock them has only just been released.

you also need to download the pk2 drivers
use a normal mini usb cable (like for an mp3 player)
not tried it myself but im told it does work, read the rest of the posts in the link for instructions.

Can Ali's dodgy phone do that ? Or does it have to be sent off to Sagem ? :E
