Where would you go?

I'm looking to take my OH on a holiday abroad for his 25th around May time. We have both only ever been ouside the UK to Spain and Florida.
I'm happy to go anywhere. Looking to go for about a week. Budget is about £3k, £4 at a push.
If someone gave you £4k to spend on a weeks holiday, where would you go?

Somewhere hot and exotic. £3-4k is an amazing budget, the world is your oyster, what sort of holiday do you want?0

What sort of holiday are you after? Beach? City? One place or travelling? Culture or relaxation or a bit of both? Are you into anything in particular that you want to incorporate? Short or longhaul?
I know what I'd want to do but it defends on what you're into.0 -
For that amount of money I'd go for more than a week & look at New Zealand, Asia, somewhere different....Lurking in a galaxy far far away...0

tbh I have no idea
I just want somehwhere new we havn't been before, somewhere hot/warm preferably.
Beach settings are great but we usually do that on our holidays so I'm thinking maybe city with a lively nightlife atmosphere.Total Mortgage OP £61,000Outstanding Mortgage £27,971Emergency Fund £62,100I AM NOW MORTGAGE NEUTRAL!!!! <<Sep-20>>0 -
Not to be rude, but isn't this question better off in the Overseas Travel forum?
For what it's worth, I would go to the Caribbean or Far East, depends on what sort of holiday you want, all inclusive in the Caribbean would be lovely, self catering in the Far East great - Far East a long flight 12+ plus with maybe a transfer or long bus journey, Caribbean can be done in an 8/9 flight, bus journey depends where you go/stay.0 -
Thanks for the advice

That's a massive budget you could pretty much go anywhere you liked

What about Dubai ?0 -
Its interesting you would say that. I didn't really consider my budget to be huge. Is this too much to spend on his bday? How much would you spend on your oh? (I know this would differ greatly as everyones income is different)Total Mortgage OP £61,000Outstanding Mortgage £27,971Emergency Fund £62,100I AM NOW MORTGAGE NEUTRAL!!!! <<Sep-20>>0
