Fined by APCOA cowboys without a ticket or letter!

Hi all,
Looked through lots of threads for my particular problem but couldn't find it, hence the new thread. All the others I read involve drivers who actually got a ticket on their windscreen or a letter - which I didn't.
I checked my bank account this morning and found the following item:
APCOA Off Street Uxbridge £67.83
How did they get my authorisation for this payment?? Card fraud perhaps? Again, I had no ticket, no letter, nothing. Of course that card has been destroyed and I flagged the payment as fraud with the bank (who will now have it out with APCOA's bank) and emailed APCOA demanding evidence.
Has anyone else been in this rather bizarre situation?

Not by me and to date I've not seen one. Don't let this one drop. Ask for(sorry demand) an explanation from apcoa.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

That's exactly what I'm doing. I gave them my number plate and car make and said "give me evidence or else". Have also read extensively about ignoring their threatening letters or references to solicitors, bailiffs and the like.0

How did they get your card details?0

Firstly - speak to your bank. Report it as an un-authorised payment, so at least it's flagged. Then you've got time to get into APCOA and get their explanation. If you try to get the explanation from APCOA then go to your bank later, they might say you're too late.:T:T:T

Do you really think there is a big database with everyones name, address and credit card details? :rotfl:0 -

This makes no difference whatsoever to the scam.0 -
If its your current account report it as a fraudulent transactions
And you will get a refund the same working day. Its a requirementFor everthing else there's mastercard.
For clampers there's Barclaycard.0 -
They will have the card number from a previous payment in a car park for that car reg. But to randomly debit that amount is astonishing - and does not even seem to be a fake PCN amount either. Weird and unsupported debit, massive complaint time.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).
