If you havent sold it - how does the bidder know its not as described. Very strange indeed.
Block the bidder from future sales - and i am sorry - but you can't blame MSE'ers for your trouble. They were trying to help. Maybe you didn't provide the correct info.
And it does sound as though Ebaying is not for you if you can't handle a few annoying emails.0 -

In a way it is the OP's fault for taking tech advice off MSE...0 -

I've just read the original thread and there are some MSEers saying the phone won't be locked until the SIM is inserted and others questioning that information. If I had been the OP, I wouldn't have relied on the answers given to be sure that the phone was unlocked.0 -

Treu, I mean how can any of us comment on a phone that we have never seen??0 -
Ok, Ok, Ok
Please don't start having a go at me here also.
Perhaps I should not of taken the advise of people on here, perhaps others would not have, perhaps other's would of gone the same way as me & said it was unlocked.
I don't know any more, all I know is I would not of listed it as un locked without having the reply's I was given here.
All I can do now is wait & tell the un lucky person who wins the iPhone that it is probably locked to Vodafone & if they don't want it don't pay for it.
Don't worry I will never make this mistake againThis Post Has Been Sponsored ByChocolate0 -
For goodness' sake, it's only eBay..... at worst, even if the bidder/buyer leaves you negative feedback, you can always close down your current account, and register with eBay as someone different...... yes, you'll lose any history you have as feedback etc, but unless that's many years' worth of transactions.....0

Sorry I wasnt having a go at you. It is more the people on here who make comments as if it's gospel and they're definitely right. Quite often you need to take things like that with a pinch of salt, certainly don't take their word for it.0 -
It's ok, it's just been coming at me from all angles today.
I have learnt that lesson very well now.

Don't stress over it. Even if someone bids on it, and wins the auction, you don't have to sell it to them. I would ask a friend to bid on it, but something sensible, not 6666 because you'll have to pay the fees if you then decide not to mutually cancel the auction which you can do after the end. Get on the phone to a friend, get them to bid something like 1500 on it, and make sure they win it. Then at the end follow through to cancel the sale, and get your friend to mutually agree. Then there's no neg, no fees etc, and no more stress!
Post on the Ebay section of these forums to find out how to mutually cancel the bid/auction once you've got a friend to win it
You are only Human, and humans make mistakes, so block and report anyone who is abusing you via the ebay message system, and ignore.
I suggest you then try it with the voda sim, and then see if it's unlocked or locked afterwards. OR sell it as unopened and locked to Vodafone (in desc you can say you neither know BUT you are selling it as LOCKED. Make that very clear. Or throw in the sim, and get another mob provider to give you a micro sim to then see if it is locked.
Or take it to cash converters and get a nominal amount for it (of cex) or see if any of your friends would want it for a reasonable amount.0
