Are these DVDs fake?

Not a single sale. Different products both fake.
Christmas present i have just got around to opening. (if i had known they were eBay purchases i would have opened them immediately)
You're only just opening some of your christmas presents? What's wrong with you?!
Seriously though it's not really any of your business or your problem - you should simply hand the present back to whomever brought it for you, and inform the present buyer that the items are fake and that they should be taking action through Ebay/however they do so choose/etc on these items.
Although if I was the present buyer....I would probably be more mortified at the fact that it took someone almost a month to open my Christmas present to them, than the fact that I had brought them fake goods.....:(Official DFW Nerd 1390 MFW 0/1800

So, getting away from your intent on disagreeing with me, has your brother tried their cardholder? Was it a paypal balance payment? Do you want help or just to be argumentative.
I'm giving the facts, you seem intent on disagreeing. You either want help or not, but just because you don't agree with the replies, doesn't make you right.
You are the one getting shirty here?
Even adding inferences into my writing.
I have taken your replies at face value, i suggest you do the same, i have not in any post tried to be pedantic.Where the !!!! has the Shrug gone!
just doesn't cut it... :huh::think::huh: and these don't come close0 -

Dvd's were only just opened.

I doubt it for numerous reasons, but i'm sure Sony will inform me. And this is listed as an original product, which it is not.
I do admise your optimism, and perhaps something like FB or Twitter may be the platform best suited to getting their attention - I haven't checked if they are on it - but companies don't like their dirty laundry (whoever washed it) being aired on public platforms.0 -
have you sent them to Sony to verify, if not how would they tell you they are fake
There are very obvious indicators.
No images on disks (and show title error) which are a single print colour.
Single layer disks with no region encoding, RCE or copy protection (not Sony's MO)Where the !!!! has the Shrug gone!

but just because you contact Sony and say
"Mr Sony i received a christmas DVD that i believe is fake" and you get a reply
" yes they are fake"
This will never happen as Sony would need to see and test the DVDs
the way you say is that i can say I am the King of Jordan and just because i say that it must be true.
the DVDs i sell, sometimes i get the odd one that does not copy to disc, but these just get replaced or refunded.0 -

I would take the DVD's to a reseller - we only have HMV down here, but you know the sort of thing I mean. Ask them to supply written evidence the DVDs are fake.
Then compile an email followed up by letter (by recorded delivery) to the original seller. Outline the requirement for a refund. Give them 14 days to respond. Be factual, don't waffle and don't accuse.
In the meantime, take the matter (with your evidence) to TS. Let Sony know if you must, but TBH they may not be interested.
Also ring the card provider (I am still assuming your brother paid via card on Paypal but you haven't said). Get him to start a 'chargeback'.
Then wait and see what happens.
If you are prepared to take it further, then you need to have done those few initial steps anyhow.0 -

Look, i don't know what your angle is here, but they are fake, and i can tell this simply by comparing it to the previous seasons, all of which i have, all of which are dual layer disks, have region encoding, RCE and Copy protection, and images of the cast on the disks.
I could take a picture with a Vaseline covered camera and they would know they were copies.

Not actually sure how he paid, all i know from him is that he has contacted the seller, and failed to get money back through eBay due to 45 days elapsing.Where the !!!! has the Shrug gone!
