  • Thanks Sam
I am excited too but right now it's under a layer of tired and grumpy as I feel like I've done nothing but chores this weekend.ย  I was expecting to be able to get outside this afternoon and that didn't happen so I must try and find time in the week.ย ย  At least now I am pretty much caught up on things and I'll see if I can meet a friend one day next weekend.ย
It will be so nice to have everything in the right size house again and be able to close the door on my office stuff.ย

  • One more grumble just so it's out and not circling my brain - I bought something this month, because of a significant discount that expires at the end of September... and I haven't got to wear it today because plans changed, and I suspect I won't get to until spring because lockdown, because work is mad already and I have the house move to sort so my chances of getting to go places is minimal.ย  I feel like I ought to send it back and put the money back in the pot... but I feel really sulky and peeved about that so I'm not going to.ย  I'm darn well going to keep it and make plans for spring because this year has so not gone to plan and I want to feel I'll be ready to go in 2021.ย

  • I think it's nice to have something and well the fact it was discounted was a bonus. Keep it, you are working like mad so it's been earned.ย

Sunday shuffle, just a super quick one as realised today I have felt like I haven't had a 'clear' day with no admin hassle for ages, between work and mortgage etc.ย  I felt like I should go out but the weather isn't good and tbh even deciding where to go felt like a chore so I have read my Kindle on the sofa all afternoon instead and feel much better.ย
The mortgage application is now complete so just waiting on the outcome - fingers crossed.ย  I'm suddenly very tired of living crammed into this little house in a way that was never intended for it and looking forward to having things back in their right places again.ย  Not much further to be done until I know, though I have got a quote for removals and checked prices for white goods, and I'm noting @Bellevie's sensible plans about cleaning up the current house in advance.ย  The mortgage brokers have emailed with an offer to find me an insurance deal so I will try that as well as the MSE versions once I know if the mortgage is approved.ย  Removal costs and any new stuff will all have to go on the 0% CC for now and I'm thinking I will use the expiry of that deal early next year as my aim for paying it all off.ย  I think I've got most of what I need already, so it will hopefully be paint, brushes, some white goods, one room needing flooring and a couple of bits of furniture.ย  Once that's sorted I think it will be time to head over to the MFW board - technically the van won't be paid off until the following year but barring disasters it is worth more than the outstanding amount on the loan so I figure that cancels out the debt.ย
YNAB is all up to date and correct, not sure there is anything else I can be doing MSE wise - though am wondering about doing my tax return as I think that would bring in a little cash.ย  Time for a little breather I think, before things change again.ย
Hope all is well with everyone out there
    RB xx

  • You are doing so well keeping on top of everything. Can't wait for you to be in the new place so we can hear all about it.ย
Glad to hear you had a quiet day earmarked for yourself, we all need those no musings daysย  :D
I've been looking at cars but don't want anything flash in year 1,so the insurance quotes on which ones I go for come in really handy so thank you for that tip.ย
