What wonderful news. Sounds like the right thing to do, and how fab that it ticks all the boxes. Amazing you have found a house, it will be worth the stretch and fun times ahead with all the new home decisions of decorating.
Exciting times and everything crossed for you.

Thats great news Rosa - and it ticks so many boxes!!! Good luck with the whole process I hope it all goes smoothly.
We are hoping to be moving around mid november too - subject to everything going to plan. I understand your decision to borrow money to get a better mortgage - we just about hit 10% would have liked to get up to 15% but a perfect house for us came up we couldn''t imagine not living there so dived in.....4 weeks later still waiting for mortgage approval that said our broker said our lender has 90% of the market submitting application so really its not a surprise. I am finding it nerve wracking and draining causing me to lose excitement a little - I hope it returns when we get further down the line.
Sorry to hear your vans costing more money, I really hope you get more use out of it soon.
5k for a freezer???

Mini win report!Spoke to a second broker and have hopefully knocked £50 per month off the mortgage by comparison to yesterday's quote - they not only checked with the bank about my employment contract but turn out to have an exclusive deal with an arrangement fee £700 less than the published version (I mentioned yesterday's proposed recommendation and apparently that was likely to be due to my employment arrangements, but this broker checked with the lender instead of just going for the more expensive deal). Very impressed, I was a bit disappointed with yesterdays' recommendation as it seemed a long way down the best buy tables given my situation. Just goes to show worth checking, they are both national and yesterday's broker was offering me a no fees deal yet still turned out more expensive. So hurrah for that broker who support the MSE guidesDebt free May 2016... I don't even understand what a fridge freezer can do differently to make it worth an extra £4.5k! (and that's not including the thing about them having a 'water dispenser' - I have one of those in my kitchen already, it's called a tap. What climate do they think I'm living in that my cold tap wouldn't be already cold!).

Sunday shuffle...Pffffftt.
It has taken HOURS this afternoon trying to collate everything needed for the mortgage application, which turns out to be slightly different to what was originally requested on the broker's portal. I still can't get an up to date statement online for the bank account that my salary goes into, so have had to phone and request one - in this day and age!
I'm annoyed enough that I'm seriously considering closing that account - I chose it for ethical reasons and its app and online banking is way behind the other one. So I still can't send in the final thing til I receive a statement with the latest transactions on it - a CSV extract won't do as it needs to have the account info showing on the page and for some reason they don't provide that as automated output. Hopefully just one more thing to go in tomorrow. Just really annoyed I've got nothing else done today.
The advisor is optimistic that things will go through quickly so fingers crossed. Having had to make my deposit stretch further pretty much all my cash has gone on the house, moving costs will have to go on the CC and fortunately I have the 0% still running til April. Thank goodness for it, I will be applying for a replacement once it expires. I have a decent amount of disposable income coming in and probably very little spending over the winter, due to not just lockdown but probably extra workso will be aiming to get repainting done over the winter and work on the garden in the spring. I don't think I need much furniture as most of what I had in the last house should work ok at least for now. So am hoping I will be able to get savings back on track early next year.
Not much else being shuffled... waiting on a couple of refunds, all my budget pots pretty much zero'd as money being pulled into house funds - won't be going anywhere soon so holiday money yanked, car and van just MOT'd so those empty and ready to be refilled. Presents pot looking a bit low but the birthdays coming up are already sorted - am having things sent direct and not doing cards to minimise things people need to handle. I can't be dealing within thinking about the X word until after movingDebt free May 2016... DFW#2 in progress
