Hi Rosa
For me WFH enables me to do so much more than office days. Even if I just use the travel time I would have used to prep a soup I can stir during the day. The downside and upside is I use my lunch hour to do chores to catch up too.
It is true you have to set boundaries for yourself but WFH days for me are a huge advantage in the battle to get organised
Reading about your friend I am so grateful to MSE (and you lot) for all that I now knowIf you have built castles in the air, your work should not be lost; that is where they should be. Now put the foundations under them

No shuffling needed since payday - though I have sent a test payment to the new CC, just to check it is working before the main payment goes across. Really pleased to have everything working online - and I notice another bank has now cut down their phone access hours, looks like they are all assuming we can do most things online now.
Today has been a 'phew, chill' day - did all the things I had got behind on in town yesterday, so am now stocked up, and today have just been reading and went for a long walk (which has done my back some good and helped clear my head). I do have things that need doing around the house, but they can happen gradually.

Well I didn't get the job  so that was an awful lot of effort for no result. However, it does mean I don't have to move house and everything can be steady for at least another year, plus there are other potential ways to move towards that promotion, so I am trying not to fume too badly.
I already decided that my next set of goals are about me and the house. This should be fine - I have already booked people to do a couple of things that need sorting in the house and if I am not moving away, feel a bit more motivated to pick up exercise clubs here.
I think I may also finally get back to the coach I spoke to ages ago and see if she can help me untangle further plans.
:money:wise, having sorted out the mess with my electricity switch I am over £200 in credit with the new supplier. They have agreed to pause the direct debit for three months to use up most of that, which is fab as that's money back in the budget. Also impressed with their customer service - it's Bu7b, in case anyone is considering them.
Onwards... (while turning to thumb my nose at people who didn't employ me)

Thanks Beanie and Redo - the upside of this is realising that I really am OK where I am, since I can afford the house and to save. So I don't really have any reason to be moaning - should just get on and relax really!Debt free May 2016... DFW#2 in progress

Sorry to hear about the job. It takes so much time and energy to apply so it is disappointing. On the other hand it looks like you can take advantage of the situation you are already in.
You are allowed to moan.

I am annoyed at them but pleasantly surprised to find that I'm also quite OK as I am for now. Not moving gives me time to organise myself properly and get some other things I want to do underway, so silver something-much-bigger-than lining

Pleased to report three things fixed in the house today, and a bonus in that the problem with the heater turned out to be an issue with the switch not the heater itself. I was hoovering the dust off it to put it back when I found the on switch
so that is a very timely discovery of a working heater, means I can put off looking for one and saves something from landfill :T
Emailed about getting a quote for some outside work, which is probably more than I want to spend but it would add to the house value and look nicer to come home to. I have a few bits and pieces I also want doing and may just get someone to come and do the lot rather than mess about with it myself - just need to buy the stuff. So that's a job for the next week or so.
Snow is not drastic here but did fall steadily all afternoon. I was rather hoping it wouldn't as am supposed to be driving somewhere tomorrow eveningoh well. Glad I insisted on only looking at villages that have a shop - I can walk down there in a few minutes which is a blessing when the weather is like this, there are local places I would have to drive.
Feeling very grateful today - to have this house, be able to look after it and heat it without worrying. Sent a donation to one of the charities organising emergency shelters in town as I couldn't immediately think of another way to help.
