Yep, but I'd go further.......
She will have had to put up with a grumpy bloke with a sore back blaming her for that and the need to get the car repaired/replaced so if he can get a grand or two for his injuries it will pay for a week in the sun which will make them both feel better.
That's an interesting new judicial idea.......hurt someone and you have to pay for a holiday to make up for it. I feel a letter to the Lord Chancellor's dept coming on.....0 -
I've dealt with a number of claims in the past where the driver has driven into something stationary (lampost or whatever) and all four passengers have claimed.
Was I suspicious? Yes, but without proof you have no choice but to settle them.0 -

That's just your company was after the low hanging fruit (easy cases).
A claim could well succeed without medical evidence from the time of the injury, it's just that it would be much easier with such evidence.
Medical evidence from later that showed ongoing pain/restricted movement might well be enough or indeed just a statement from the injured party describing the symptoms & effects.0 -
The moral of this "story" is make sure you have a close relation or mate in the car at all times. More the better and if the driver has an accident you can share out the compo.Mr Straw described whiplash as "not so much an injury, more a profitable invention of the human imagination—undiagnosable except by third-rate doctors in the pay of the claims management companies or personal injury lawyers"0
