Am considering getting an Orange Mifi/T-Mobile pointer device but their biggest data plan is 5GB...
However I know 3 don't have such good coverage in my area as T-Mobile/Orange.
Yes, subject to what the d/l speeds are and what you'll be doing on the 3 laptops.0 -

In this case, 3g is even cheaper than home broadband.. and I've found sky to be much better with speeds than Virgin (especially considering they lower speeds after you have downloaded a certain amount).
Taken just now.......
It's very stable too which was a pleasant surprise. In terms of usage I'm up to 10gb now and I'm not halfway through the month as yet.0 -

Thanks. That's interesting. If I go down to a 3 shop, is there any way they would lend me a sim, or if I bought the unlimited one plan, allow me to return it and get my money back in case there is not a good enough signal in my flat?
I'm a bit worried about losing 25 pounds if there isn't...0 -

Don't know if they lend you anything but you can always get a free pay as you go, top it up with 5 pounds and see how well it works0 -
Yes, just get a PAYG sim and see what the reception is like. They also have an online coverage checker on their website.0

Is this the Ultimate Internet SIM 200 (1 month) at £12.90 plus £5/mth tethering add-on? TIA! 3 don't make it clear if unlimited tethering is allowed on this plan as they seem to imply the tethering allowance is just 2gb? I thought the only plan where u/l tethering is allowed is The One Plan?0 -

I doubt they put a limit on the amount you can tether, I think you just pay the £5 for the privilege.
Can you show me where they imply that there is a 2GB tethering limit?

I just called and asked and was told the 5 pound add on was only good for 1gb tethering. The only unlimited plan is the one plan. I think I am going to go for it, despite the coverage map saying otherwise, signal seems great here!0 -

Do let us know how you get on!0 -
I'm starting to wonder if I need a fixed broadband line at all now.
Currently got my iPhone acting as a wireless hotspot with my Three account, connected currently to my desktop PC, my TV for iPlayer content etc and also to a laptop in another room.
I'm very impressed indeed.
