If I employ staff, can I ban them from wearing perfume/aftershave?

Do you plan to shave your armpits then immediately rub up againts your employee(s) armpits to get some of their aluminium fragments on your skin, so proving your hatred of all things perfumed to be justified?
Or could you just employ people who are informed enough to make their own judgement in their personal toilet habits?0 -
OP how would you word your job advertisement so people know what not to wear?

I would just make a note:
Please do not wear aftershave or perfume.
I also wouldn't employ smokers.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

Potassium alum = my rock salt deodorant (no smell)
If an aluminum compound, such as aluminum chlorohydrate or aluminum zirconium, which is very soluble, is used as an antiperspirant, that compound is readily absorbed. Once in the body, the aluminum portion of the molecule ionizes, forming free or radical aluminum (Al+++). This passes freely across cell membranes, and forms a physical plug, that when dissolved is selectively absorbed by the liver, kidney, brain, cartilage and bone marrow. It is this concentration of aluminum that has been the source of concern in the medical community and has prompted the research being done on ALZHEIMER'S DISEASE and Breast Cancer victims. Potassium alum molecules have a negative ionic charge, making it unable to pass through the cell wall. THEY ARE NOT ABSORBED.
I am not that bothered about deodorants, just perfumes/aftershave . If I ever get a girlfriend then it is going to be impossible if she likes wearing perfume.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -

I dont think you can ask if they smoke though

I don't want to be around smokers because it causes cancer and reeks.This is a system account and does not represent a real person. To contact the Forum Team email forumteam@moneysavingexpert.com0 -
Cancer for you? What about drinkers? Or women who have had no children? They are at risk of cancer too.berbastrike wrote: »why?

The crystal rock aluminium molecules are too big to be absorbed by skin.
The Sure/supermarket deodorants with aluminium (all), the molecules are smaller and can be absorbed by skin. Also the number one ingredient is butane, a gas that is an irritant to the body. Simply madness using deodorants/perfumes, that artificial smell _pale_
Good Lord - you sound like the idiot that interviewed me once for a job......
Asked what my proudest moment was I said completing a marathon in aid of cancer research and then she then proceeded to tell me about deodorants causing cancer and how she didn't allow her young teenage daughter to use them.
Needless to say I was ever so glad when I didn't get the job as refusal often offends2014 Target;
